The Golden Knights came out with another period in which they dominated the advanced stats, but like has been the case many times this year, the scoreboard did not agree. Tampa scored first, Vegas answered, and then the Lightning took the lead into the first intermission. A power-play goal was upheld on an offside challenge by the Golden Knights which gave Tampa the 3-1 lead. A quick PP goal of their own by William Karlsson got Vegas closer, but they just could not find the equalizer. Not like they didn’t have their chances at it though.

There's the excution Gallant has been talking about. Reaves makes an awesome pass across and they just cannot find a way to direct it on net. Play is there, it just needs the final touch and it hasn't been there.
