VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS 6 PITTSBURGH PENGUINS 2 (8-2-0, 16 PTS)

Recap: The Golden Knights were looking for their third straight victory as they hosted an out-of-conference game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. 66 seconds into the game, Rasmus Andersson gave Vegas an immediate 1-0 edge. Three minutes later, Noah Hanifin doubled their lead. With time winding down, the Golden Knights were awarded a power play, which a scorching hot Mark Stone took advantage of. Stone scored his 7th goal in ten games. After 20 minutes, Vegas held a 3-0 advantage.

Pittsburgh got on the scoreboard early in the middle frame, but Vegas answered right back. First, Trevor Connelly recorded his 4th goal of the season, and Shea Theodore scored his 2nd of the season. Vegas took a 5-1 lead into the 2nd intermission.

The Penguins got one in the 3rd but never made it a game. Brett Howden was awarded a goal when he was tripped with the Pittsburgh net empty.

The Golden Knights’ record improves to 8-2-0, defeating the Penguins 6-2 at T-Mobile Arena. Next up, Vegas will welcome the Tampa Bay Lightning for a matchup on Tuesday night. Puck drop against the Lightning is scheduled for 7:30 PM. (Recap by Jason)

Analysis: After a beatdown at the hands of the Avalanche last night in Denver, the Penguins came into Vegas as a bit of a wounded animal. VGK needed a quick start to bury them early, and that’s exactly what they did. Two games in a row they scored on the first shot of the game and basically coasted from there forward. The schedule keeps handing them inferior opponents and they keep beating the living hell out of them. (Analysis by Ken)

    • Who would have possibly thought and who would have had on their Bingo Card that Adin Hill would be 4-0??

He is playing much better for sure, but can he please stay in the net and not stray out of position, if he can clean up that aspect maybe he, and we as VGK fans, will have something to look forward to this season.
