Praise Be To Foley, Vegas Golden Knights Hockey Website

Recap: The Golden Knights were back home hosting the New York Rangers after going 3-1-0 on their four-game road trip. New York caught Vegas off guard early, taking the first lead 6:49 into the game. The Rangers outshot the Golden Knights 15 to 5 in the opening 20 minutes.

Vegas picked up the pace midway through the 2nd period, outshooting New York 17 to 11. After drawing two concurrent penalties, Jonathan Marchessault evened the score with his 11th goal of the season.

Penalties ultimately cost the Golden Knights the game in the 3rd period. On New York’s second PP opportunity, the Rangers took the lead six minutes into the period and extended their lead 0:24 later. New York added three more to finish off Vegas 5-1.

The Golden Knights record drops to 19-8-1 falling to the Rangers. Vegas will next hit the ice on Friday night vs. the Philadelphia Flyers. Puck drop against the Flyers is scheduled for 7 PM. (Recap by Jason)

Analysis: It’s always tough playing the first home game after a long road trip, especially a successful one. VGK fell right into that trap for the first 30 minutes of the game getting outworked all over the ice. They picked it up for 10 minutes and it looked like they might rescue the game, but it all fell apart in the 3rd before they lost their cool and resorted to loser hockey. Was always going to be tough, especially without Eichel and Pietrangelo. (Recap by Ken)

Home Is Where The Problems Are

  1. THE hockey God

5-1 is the second toughest lead to protect – only 6-1 is harder…bad ice did in VGK this game

  2. Pistol Pete

A good game for Shesterkin’s stats (who’s having a comparatively “tough” year) and not so good for LT’s. Probably his toughest period in the NHL thus far.

Game at a time. Next is next.

  3. Former season ticket holder

    Revenge of the Turk

    • THE hockey GOD

GG called for a vicious , nasty game, he got it; and officials turned a blind eye. Now you know one of reasons of why GMGM let him go.

      • Blitz

I was going to say, that is the stupidest comment, but in reality you have made so many stupid comments that it really is just “another”. Yes they got rid of Turk cause he destroys good teams 5-1 with physicality. GTFO

        • THE hockey GOD

You obviously didn’t watch the game, or were clueless in what you were watching.

So it’s stupid to say that the FO didn’t like GG direction when they fired him?

You are entitled to your stupid opinion. But based upon your prior comments, I am not surprised by you posting another stupid comment. Because Stupid is, what Stupid does. Or is it , a box of chocolates? Are you related to Forest Gump, because he was pretty stupid, too. But just because people are stupid, and make stupid comments, they can be lucky too. So are you lucky and stupid too ?

          Stupid is, as stupid does.

You bash me, I bash you in return.

          Have a cookie.

        • THE hockey GOD

“Yes they got rid of Turk cause he destroys good teams 5-1 with physicality.”

that is not what I posted, learn to read English. WAKE UP, smacks Blitz across the face with head slap that even the refs in last nights game couldn’t miss it for “unsportsmanlike conduct”. Wait a minute the Ranger players and coaches , GG, were YELLING at the ref last nite. Even GG didn’t think the vicious hit on STONE was penalty. He was screaming at the refs !! GG lives in another world, he was a vicious player, and he is a vicious, dirty coach. The type of dirty, underhanded tricks he ordered last nite were uncalled for. The ranger players were repeatedly head hunting the whole game. That is not “physicality” that is assault. They nearly took off LT’s head on more than one occasion. Learn to see what is actually going on in the game when you “watch” it. Because it’s pretty clear from your posts that you are clueless.

          The real THG

        • Alex

          Blitz 100% correct here

  4. Jailbird

Move on and get ready for the next game.

  5. Richie-Rich

It’s too early right now to begin questioning. But, the preseason concerns are beginning to creep back up into the conversation.

  6. THE hockey GOD

A vicous mugging took place at T mobile arena in which the Rangers repeatedly bashed , tripped, slashed, and out roughed the VGK. They cheated just as bad as Katie Hobbs did in the Arizona mid term 2022 election, and the officials on the ice turned a blind eye covering up the evidence of ballot irregularities just like the courts are doing now. Seems like all is fair in elections and on the ice, let the cheating begin. From the mugging of Stone, which likely ended his career (back injury, nerve damage, etc) to the head shots at LT.

When your captain goes down, the team on ice is supposed to stick up for him. Nothing happened. It was a gross display of “i don’t give a damn” by players on the ice. Pathetic.

And when they did fight, it was at the WRONG point in game sucking all the momentum from surging VGK.

No. 8, no 55, and few others are dead wood. The AHL can’t pick up the team, the two rookies did nothing. The performance was so bad the coach had to juggle the lines. TNT were homers for the rangers most of the game.

The fans did home team no favors either, as chants of LETS GO RANGERS, LETS GO RANGERS, LET GO RANGERS, peppered the crowd through out the night.

The team needs a big dead cat bounce in next game or the pinnacle of the season has been reached, and it’s down hill from here.

    no no. 7
    no no. 9
    likely no no. 61

^^^^ this is how a real sports writer, back east, would have called this game. You know, I know it, we all know it.

Signing off the REAL HOCKEY GOD, ignore the troll who is on parole.

  7. Henderson One

The VGK were humiliated last night. No if’s, and’s or but’s about it. Last night the Rangers were clearly the superior team. And get rid of those gold jerseys.

  8. Henderson One

  9. Tim

Gallant got his pound of flesh. I’m sure he loves sticking to George and Kelly.

  10. Frank

Simply got outworked, out hustled, and had a horrible third where we lost our cool committing multiple silly penalties. That’s losing hockey… and I agree, lose the gold sweaters.

  11. Arnold Rothstein

As predicted, the odds gods do not lie.
