A pair of early goals gave the Devils a jump on the game but the Golden Knights did well to fight back as the period went on. A quick whistle took a Vegas goal off the board but a fantastic individual play by Ryan Reaves cut the lead to one. The Golden Knights played a terrific 2nd period scoring twice to bring the lead into the 3rd. New Jersey came back hard with 20 shots in the 3rd, but even despite a couple late penalties they couldn’t get one past Malcolm Subban.
