Vegas once again scored first on the Kings in the second night of a home and home back to back, but it all went downhill from there. A pair of turnovers in their own end followed by a rush in which Kopitar outskated on Sbisa, Engelland, and Lagace to give the Kings a 3-1 lead heading into the final period of the pair of games. Ryan Reaves took a pair of penalties in the 3rd which led to a bench minor and eventually the fourth goal for the Kings.
Upcoming stories from the Vegas Golden Knights vs. Los Angeles Kings at T-Mobile Arena.
- The future outlook of the Tatar trade.
- It’s been just two games, two, but… the Golden Knights were a different team in those two games.
Three Stars
*** William Karlsson
** Anze Kopitar
* Jack Campbell
It's been two games, only two games, but the Golden Knights have taken on a different personality than what has gotten them to this point. Luckily there are so many points in the bank that it doesn't matter much, so…
On to Friday.

Two words Maxime Lagace…… Another sub par 90% save performance. Made Jack Campbell look like the 2nd coming of Patrick Roy. Absolutely terrible penalty calls on knights in 3rd. Nothing like helping the kings and their market into the playoffs.

The first three goals were off egregious turnovers. The second goal he probably should have had but was playing too deep. The fourth was on a 5 on 3. He wasn’t the reason the Knights lost this game. That may have been the dumbest played game of the year.

Ryan Reaves is truly a WMD. Unfortunately, his on-ice aggression usually ends up punishing his own team. When he plays hockey, skating, shooting, etc., he can be very effective. When he wheels around the ice looking for scalps like last night, he makes Raffi Torres look like a Lady Byng finalist. Whether that was his own initiative, or on instruction from Gallant, I hope he continues to play that way. Go Kings Go.

That’s it. No more Reaves. Please healthy scratch him for the rest of the season. Two more penalties tonight (Doughty sold the hell out of the second one) probably should have been called for that late hit on Kopitar and took one last night that led to the Kings first goal. I can care less about hits. If you have more hits, chances are the other team had possession more often. One of those stats has a better chance of leading to goals.
Speaking of possession, did the top line ever get clobbered tonight.
