VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS 3 DALLAS STARS 2 (18-7-3, 39 PTS)

Recap: The Golden Knights were trying to win their third game in a row with a victory over the Dallas Stars. It looked like the Stars had opened the scoring early in the contest, but it was ruled that goaltender Adin Hill had frozen the puck before reaching the net. After the goal was called back Vegas stole the momentum and drew several penalties, setting them up with multiple power play opportunities. Tomas Hertl continued his dominance on the man-advantage and scored the game’s first goal. After the opening 20 minutes, the home team held a 1-0 edge.

Dallas tied the game early on in the middle frame. Towards the end of the period Vegas was awarded a power play opportunity which Jack Eichel snapped the 1-1 tie. 68 seconds later Nic Roy extended Vegas’ lead to 3-1 before the break.

The Stars outshot the Golden Knights in the final period, but Hill was strong in net allowing just one 6-on-5 goal. After 60 minutes the Golden Knights won 3-2 and are one point back in the President’s Trophy chase.

The Golden Knights record improves to 18-7-3 defeating the Stars 3-2 at T-Mobile Arena. Vegas will have the next five days off before facing the Winnipeg Jets next Thursday. Puck drop in Winnipeg is scheduled for 5 PM. (Recap by Jason)

Analysis: Mark Stone’s return to the lineup instantly sparked the power play and it was crucial to help VGK beat one of the Western Conference’s best teams. From there, the Stars held much more possession of the puck but in typical VGKvsDAL fashion struggled to generate dangerous looks with any consistency. VGK’s defense has taken a huge step in the right direction the last three games since the Utah disaster. (Analysis by Ken)

  1. Excellent defensive effort… Solid Solid Solid…Jack had a terrible first period with his errant passing but more than atoned for it with a terrific 2nd and 3rd period offensively and defensively!

The VGK have won 3 in a row. The last few games have been defensive gems and Aidin Hill has looked very good. The team looks a lot more confident and comfortable with Stone back in the lineup.

There are 8 games left in 2024 beginning with a 3 game road trip:

Game 29 at WPG 12 Dec THU 5pm
Game 30 at EDM 14 Dec SAT 1pm
Game 31 at MIN 15 Dec SUN 3pm

Three games in a row against tough playoff caliber teams on the road. The first 2 on a back-to-back. Samsonov likely will play vs the Wild. We shall see.

    Predictions on wins/losses?
I predict a 5-3 record with 2 losses on the road trip, and one loss at home over the remaining 5 games.

I really liked the new Hertl line.

    • Pistol Pete

Cassidy said post game that both Holtz and Olofsson are improving as far as the system. Hopefully Hertl is a good matchup with Holtz. Holtz landed three shots this game. It’s talking time but I’m confident he’ll prove to be a significant upgrade over Cotter.

  4. DeezNutz

    Jamie Benn is amazing

    Looking good!
.Nice to see the team’s expanding W/L differential! The boys are rollin better together– takes time to fit so many new pieces into our system. Hill has his A game going again– that’s a big relief. Long rest/ recharge before next game– plenty of practice time!!

  6. JB

Another great effort. Hilly is top of his game. Stoney got the pp going again. Good job boys!

another solid game all around hilly was solid again holz had a couple of real good shifts Hertl owns the bumper spot on the power play

  8. Vic

Team building momentum and now 5 days off with a back to back up next. Anyway, fine effort against a very good team. Dallas didn’t try their heavy game so the VGK matched them pretty well with speed. No penalty on Marchment for crashing into Hill alone, but penalty for a snow shower?

BREAKING- dems ballot harvesting four weeks after election turn three red districts in CA to blue, many of GOPers were leading by more that 5000 votes on election nite. Cheating, election integrity badly needed.

The 2020 presidential election was a hot mess, and that’s putting it kindly. Allegations of fraud, ballot mishandling, and endless recounts left Americans with more questions than answers.

States like Arizona and Pennsylvania were particularly infamous for their inability to count votes efficiently. It felt like a masterclass in how not to run an election.

Many Americans were left wondering if they’d ever see a smooth, transparent election again.

Fast forward to 2024. The presidential election ended with a decisive win for Donald Trump. Most states handled their business like seasoned pros. Ballots were counted, results were clear, and Americans got their answers on time.

But some states—unsurprisingly—didn’t get the memo. The usual suspects dragged their feet, taking weeks to finalize results. It’s like they’re stuck in a time loop, forever fumbling through the basics of democracy.

One state in particular, Arizona, finds itself under the microscope again, with serious allegations of misconduct and mismanagement surfacing.

Republican lawmakers in Arizona are calling for Pima County recorder Gabriella Cazares-Kelly to be investigated for her handling of the 2024 General Election, accusing her of closing an early ballot request portal before the legal deadline for early ballot requests, among two other claims of potential misconduct.

      Arizona’s Election Drama
Arizona can’t seem to avoid controversy when it comes to elections. This time, it’s Pima County Recorder Gabriella Cazares-Kelly in the hot seat.

Republican lawmakers have accused her office of shutting down the online ballot request system six days before the legal deadline, potentially disenfranchising nearly 4,000 voters. Let’s be clear: that’s not a “hiccup.” That’s a face plant.

Representatives Teresa Martinez and Rachel Jones have called for a full investigation, citing numerous “significant and highly concerning issues.” Among their concerns is the mishandling of voter registrations for inmates, which may have allowed ineligible individuals to vote.

Add to that murky procedures for tracking undeliverable ballots, and you’ve got a recipe for chaos. It’s no wonder Arizona’s election integrity is being called into question—again.

Cazares-Kelly, a self-proclaimed progressive Democrat, defended her office by blaming district boundary errors and the high volume of duplicate ballot requests. According to her, only 39% of online ballot requests processed before October 19 were valid.

But critics aren’t buying it. Martinez and Jones argue that voters deserve transparency, not excuses, and they’ve urged Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes to step in.

      A Pattern of Problems
This isn’t the first time Pima County has been in the spotlight for election issues. Critics say this is part of a broader pattern of mismanagement and lack of accountability.

Even Maricopa County, infamous for its slow vote counts, managed to garner praise from MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell—a sure sign something is amiss. Meanwhile, Pima County voters are left wondering why their elections can’t run as smoothly as in, say, Florida or Texas.

Robert Beadles is taking his lawsuit against Washoe County Election Officials all the way to the Supreme Court. He has hard evidence of laws being broken, counting behind closed doors and an adamant refusal by Washoe County Election Officials to respond to his valid queries.

This decision could send shock waves across the nation and end up in major changes being required in every state, especially with respect to signature verification and the maintenance of voter registrations.

In Nevada, the mass mailing of ballots wastes tens of millions of dollars. Allowing them to be mailed in with post marks and received up to 5 days after election day is a nightmare for election integrity, cost and manpower. In our case here in Nevada, they simply ran out of time on the clock and 9,000+ ballots that required “curing” were simply tossed in the dumpster. Our elections in Nevada are a joke and Governor Lombardo is demanding the legislature take action to make the necessary corrections so that all ballots must be in on time so that they can be counted and reported ON ELECTION DAY.

Ideally, we would end mass mail out and move to an opt-in method where voters can all request to vote by mail. Those mail ballots would need to be in the hands of the voters with enough time for them to take a week to research, fill them out and mail them in so that they are received and counted no later than election day, not days or several weeks afterwards.

Holy cow, they caught them red handed, and the courts will turn a blind eye like they did in 2020.

          I prefer :
1- election day, one day voting for all
2- voter ID needs to be shown that is verifiable based upon citizenship
3- all paper ballots counted on election day
4- absentee ballots may be requested but notarized, with valid ID, all mail in ballots must be received by election day. Absentee ballots to be mailed out two weeks before FEDERAL election and must be notarized and mailed , post marked prior to election day.
          5- above for federal elections.

Arizona?? You mean, the Lala land of Kari Lake, the most delusional in the state?? That BS has been going on since 2020, with Lake leading/ lying all the way. How’d those lies work out for Lake?? The Trump Conspiracy candidates were defeated. Again. Land of Conspiracy and Delusion!!

    • HOWARD

But, you will ignore the fact in the last election cycle, Dems were ahead in California only for the GOP candidates to “catch up” weeks after the election, right? Before you go on another partisan bias hacked rant, I voted for Trump, but I’m not a partisan hack like you who relies on belief bias as truth.

wow first the jets now stars !! VGK beating the better teams in NHL. Still one tier below the LEAFS, Bolts, Caps, and PAnthers. Still slowly getting there. I am impressed with Cassidy, and FO, taking another round of virtual misfits, plagued with injuries and preserving. This streak is testimony to coaching staff. Last thing needed now is five days off !

And how about HILL? Where are the usual suspects ? I don’t see them posting today , they only come out when the team loses it seems.

Theo is getting his game back. Petro is playing better. Korczak has been steady , even though Coach only played him 8 + minutes. When Whitecloud is healthy, expect him to sit. Hague played 12 minutes, rest of D logged big minutes. Petro nearly played half the game ! Bobby Orr like ice time. Hannifin, 23 minutes.

Another 3-2 game, TimMAH must be hyperventilating about these games. TimMAH WAKE UP , here’s the game in fast motion so you won’t keep falling asleep!

    • Tim

THG, so far this year sleep has not been a problem eyes wide open. The the Knights play the way they have this year I’m all in last year they never got out of first gear. The last example of that was the Dallas playoff last year we beat them the first 2 games at there arena and lose in 7 are you shitting me. That basically was a microcosm of the whole season. We needed a true sniper which we never got and this years team is good but a true sniper would make us the favorites to win the Cup. No one wants to listen to Timmy Boy.

      • ThG

i guess you missed game 7, Marchy (who is a sniper), missed more than once, eichel repeatedly set him up.

  12. Tim

Tough 3 game road trip but to end the year with 5 home winnable games is very encouraging. No game is gimme but if we play up to our potential I think 5 and 3 possibly 6 and 2 is attainable.

  13. For the record snipers don’t grow on trees and the closest we have to one is waaaaaaay too unselfish and personally I wish he would shoot waaaaay more….his name would be Jack Eiiiiiiiiiiiichel!
