Praise Be To Foley, Vegas Golden Knights Hockey Website

Recap: The Golden Knights were hoping to extend their season and force Game 7 with a victory at home against the Dallas Stars. Game 6 began with several quality scoring chances from Vegas, but Dallas’ goaltender Jake Oettinger stopped every threat. The Golden Knights recorded ten shots on net but the game was scoreless through twenty minutes.

Vegas goaltender Adin Hill began the period with a few outstanding saves to hold the game scoreless. The Golden Knights offense was outshot 12-8 in the middle frame bus still had as many scoring chances as the Stars. However, the game remained scoreless heading into the second intermission.

The third period continued to be back and forth, intense and tight. Neither team gave an inch, forcing the other to take low quality shots on net. At the 9:54 mark of the final frame Noah Hanifin shot a laser past Oettinger to give Vegas a 1-0 lead. With time winding down Mark Stone hit a long distance empty net goal to seal the game for Vegas.

The Golden Knights defeated the Stars 2-0 in Game 6 to force a seventh and series deciding game. Game 7 is scheduled for Sunday night in Dallas. Puck drop is is at 4:30 PM.  (Recap by Jason)

Analysis: It was without question the most action-packed game of the series and yet it remained deadlocked well into the night. Both goalies were stupendous and the offensive waves just kept coming at each of them. Eventually, a hero needed to emerge and boy did he. Noah Hanifin came through with an incredible individual effort to skate into the dangerous ice and wing one past Oettinger. Then, as the team leading has done in every game this series, VGK went into lockdown mode and they played it as perfectly as they could. We’re going back to Dallas to try and break Pete DeBoer’s 7-0 Game 7 record. (Analysis by Ken)

Game 7: By The Numbers

  1. Jack Hammer

Thank You in advance, God, for the way that You are going to move and change the VGK’s situation. Thank You for the guaranteed victory through Jesus I already have right now. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for being in my life and for helping me to live out this victory. Amen.

    • TS

Jack, thank you for keeping it clean. We’re still in it!!

    • Pistol Pete

Let’s just not force the Christian State on all the rest of us.

      • Jack Hammer

You are a great fan and even greater person. Pistol Peter. Hanifin goal as beautiful as a Pete Sampras serve.

      • Niggles

How about the Islamic state? Absalom VGK

      • Earl the Replanted Transplant

A true Chriatian doesn’t force anything, you are thinking of Muslims, linerals, and LGBTQFAGROOMERS. A Christian shares the Way, Truth, and Life with someone, and if you don’t want to lay your life at the feet of God and be saves through faith, then we pray for you and walk away in love.

Anyway, finally VGK played their game and it paid off. The first 2 games could’ve easily went to Dallas, the previous 3, stupid penalties and bad puck management cost them the game. Need to goninto Dallas and hammer them and rattle Otter. Then it is a fresh slate and Colorado.

      • PP – you seem to have an issue with anyone or anything that’ not in line with your way of thinking or accepting of your opinion. I hate to bring it to your attention but others thoughts are as important as yours. I hope this doesn’t come as a shock to you but if so maybe it’s time to think about it.

      • Richie-Rich

I am okay with any religious expression of faith. It’s one of our best freedoms! I may not agree with it, but feel free to exercise your right! It bothers me not.

      • ThG

PP from your posts here it’s pretty obvious you went to the school of lib tard morons indoctrination.

move to Russia if you want a God less state, you will like it there, everyone thinks like you do in this regard

My Jesus have mercy on your soul.

        • Richie-Rich

ThG – I don’t have a problem with people who do not have faith in a high power behind the fabric of the universe. But, it is clearly evident that man left to his own devices has a tendency to devolve and regress, tending to abandon traditional values that have stood the test of time (family, monogamy, restraint from vices, and treating others as you want to be treated). Move to Russia? Russia actually is Orthodox Roman Catholic. It was the Soviet Union under communism that placed the communion of man and the body politic above all else. If you are agnostic you may still have a spiritual connection and tend to have traditional values. There are many examples of those who have expressed faith and have committed awful acts against humanity. I’d be careful about how you treat others. Terms like “libtard morons” is actually against the fundamental principles of treating others well.

    • ThG

don’t mention it, here for you! lol

PS Even Timmah liked this game !

  2. TS

What a game! Best game of the series! Heck, Best game of the ENTIRE Playoffs!! HELL YEAH!!

    • Earl the Replanted Transplant

I will agree with your comment. The Knights found their game, now they have to keep it.

    • Cheese Louise

The goaliepalooza between Bob and Vagilevsky game 2 of Florida/Tampa series rd 1 was tied with this game for best of rd 1 or at least a very close 2nd for me

  3. Pistol Pete

Noah Hanifin gets his second postseason goal both game winners. Worth every penny of $7.35m…another astute move by McCrimmon.

Hill back to being Adin Hill, the postseason Adin Hill.

Shame on those negative nellies, you whiners for not supporting your team after they lost three straight, selling your team down the river. I tried to tell you this series was close and you refused to reason with me.

    • Pistol Pete

Tell me, is there something wrong with just keeping the faith?

      • Anand

Nothing at all wrong with keeping the state.

        • Anand

          I meant keeping the faith

          • David T

It’s ok. Keeping the state works fine, as in, keeping the state of mind that the VGK can win game 7….

      • Richie-Rich

You cannot force your positivity and enthusiasm onto others, but I respect your right to try and do so! These games have been close and it appears that Bruce Cassidy and the boys once again have pulled a rabbit out of the hat, or maybe it was a miracle? Who knows. One thing is for sure. Game 7! Let’s finish this and make this rivalry a huge one!

      • PP – perhaps your more in line with Jack Hammer’s original No 1 post than you let on – Where does faith come from – no answer necessary just asking.

    • Jose

Pistol Pete, they are just realists, constructive criticizers and baseball fans. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

    • TS

PP, I think we finally saw the Playoff team we need to advance. This is the winning team we’ve been hoping we’d see…i’m so pumped up!( and hoarse from all the celebrating!)

      • Richie-Rich

That was the first game since the first 12 of the year that I could honestly say was championship caliber. Cassidy is a genius. I don’t think DeBoer is flexible enough to adjust to this new scheme of attack.

        • TS

Rr, yes sir! Everyone was clicking on all cylinders, playing really well together. Hill was the G- Man we paid for..G is Key, and I think.we finally have 2 healthy ones. GAME ON!! (.oops, there goes that dang CAPS button again! Lol)

  4. Gary Dadey

    • Rashaad

Gary, I was thinking the same thing. LOL

Let’s just call it a laser.

      GO KNIGHTS!!!

    • PP – you seem to have an issue with anyone or anything that’ not in line with your way of thinking or accepting of your opinion. 5. niggles

I don’t know how many hits barbershop had, but, he was just leveling people per usual. He deserves the star too

Adin Hill looked very impressive when he blocked 3-4 consecutive shots after the whitecloud mishap.

Hanifin killed it and even Petro got better as the game went on.

Looks like we may be finally finding out game. *Fingers crossed*

  6. TS

Niggles, Carrier had a few good hits, too. Everyone had a great game, played the entire 60. We have our Playoff team,at last!

  7. Pistol Pete

Petro looked good tonight. Theo too. Eichel finally does not get a point but he was playing 200 ft. constantly hustling back into his end and going back the other way. VGK’s overall most impactful
    player this series.

    • Niggles

Yes, Eichel may not score the most goals but he’s the best overall player on the team. He really works.

  8. Pistol Pete

Golden opportunity to spoil DeBoer’s perfect 7-0 game 7 record.

  9. Great game by the team. This is the best game they have played since last year. The question I must ask is where was this team through the first 5 games. Especially the last 3 games when they looked slow and lethargic. This was the first game in a long time that Hill looked like Hill. I think it gave the team more confidence. Hopefully this team shows up in Dallas. Stone and Petro looked much better and the 4th line has been great. However, we can still get better if Stevenson and Marsh can get on a scoring roll.

    • Pistol Pete

They never looked slow and lethargic ever in this series. Teams regularly play playoff games like they don’t give a damn? They played well enough to sweep the series despite that first 30 min. beat down in game 3. Maybe you missed that high energy push in the final minute of regulation where Barbashev nearly scored and then an even more dangerous one from Hanifin. Guess that is slow and lethargic lol. Also, this was not their best game since last year.

      • Richie-Rich

The only reason they looked slow and lethargic before last night’s game is because DeBoer had a very good defensive scheme in the NZ, jamming up the passing lanes that the VGK were trying to use. I am disappointed that it took 3 losses to figure it out, but here we are headed to game 7. I doubt that DeBoer will adjust his scheme, which means the VGK should be able to rinse and repeat the offensive scheme in game 7!

    • TS

Leonard, maybe the thoughts of a long, hot, boring summer with nothing to show for the season motivated them at last!

  10. JB

A great game, a great win! Both goalies were fantastic. Could have went either way. Let’s hope for an equally great game Sunday. We gave ourselves a chance, so let’s see if we can take advantage of it. I think we can!

  11. Knight fan in Ok

That was the team from last year’s cup run. I am really proud of the whole team effort for a good portion of 60 minutes. Now the question to the team is; why play that good to force a game 7 if your not going to go and do it all over again on Sun and move on to the next round. You are the defending Stanley Cup Champions!

  12. Tim

Finally the first game this year they went balls to the wall from the opening face-off to the final buzzer. This was my problem with the team all year taking periods off didn’t work for me but you all excepted it as part of hockey. Now all you hockey jocks that know the game of hockey can finally see what I’ve bitched about all year never a 60 minute effort which doesn’t play well with a baseball guys like me. Maybe in the future you hockey know it alls will raise your standards a little bit and expect a better showing from the Knights and forget all the excuses.

    • JB

Now you changing your tune Tim? What you have bitched about forever was low scoring games. You called them boring, not worth watching. Last night was a very exciting game as both teams pushed for scoring chances but the goalies were outstanding. I guess you have finally realized it’s not how many goals that are scored that makes a game exciting to watch! Thank you for finally realizing that. My playoff beard goes on, at least another game!

      • Tim

JB, Low scoring non-productive periods when I quote we don’t have our legs are not my cup of tea. I’ve preached playing hard every night every period as they finally did last night. You can spin it anyway you want to and if you enjoy the Knights going through the motions good for you. As I’ve said many times balls to the wall is the only way I know to play and you all mostly except that there’s days they don’t have there legs or well we just got home from a road trip, or we’ve been on the road for a long time always some bull-shit excuse. That’s brainwashed hockey experts. If you recall the Knights are a different animal from there inception they’ve went against the grain from most hockey experts thinking. That’s why the hockey world is so pissed at us and using those old hockey cliches doesn’t set well with me. So in a nutshell give me 60 minutes of balls to the wall hockey and I don’t care if it’s 1 zip or 5-4 whether we win or not I would feel entertained and not these other bull shit excuses. Please no more fucking snoozers from today forward the fans deserve more and with the price of tickets those who go to the game definitely deserve more then we didn’t have it today.

        • Richie-Rich

No team in this league plays “balls to the wall” hockey for 82 games. Despite two years in a row with major injuries and inconsistent lineups, the team made the playoffs again, and McCrimmon was able to make great moves to prep the team for the playoffs.

I play pickleball. I don’t play balls to the wall pickleball. You don’t need to have a winner on every point. You can let the opposition make some mistakes and just allow the play to stay in front of you.

I have to disagree with you on the point of the team playing “lazy going through the motions hockey”. If that’s what you think, I am sure that most of us in this forum do not agree.

          • Tim

RR, Here we go with the No team nonsense. Don’t tell Bill Foley because with his West Point mentality he doesn’t want to hear we didn’t have it at times. Get this through your head were not like the other teams we strive for excellence since our inception and when we don’t get it shame on the players. Our first year we did what was never done in any sport and make it to the finals so don’t short change us by lumping us in with anyone. Management have given us the players and if those spoiled brats don’t go balls to the wall shame on them.

hilly saved their ass fourth line working like mad men barby was hitting everything paul bissonet on tnt calls him the cigarette machine

    • JB

The cigarette machine ….. “he lights them up”!

      • knights fan in minny

more like his heavy hits and a cig machine weighs a ton but you have the right idea

      • TS

Jb, I LIKE it. Light ’em.up, Barby!Carrier, ditto.

  14. vgk21

the motivation was stated during the telecast. the players did NOT want to lose 3 in a row at home and blow the season on home ice. they played more like the team of last season, with emphasis on defensive structure and close checking being the necessary key. in coachspeak, they “got to their game”.

now, hopefully they can repeat that effort in game 7

    • JB

Pressure now switches to Dallas. #1 seed and all that!

      • vgk21

the Vgk beat Dallas, in Dallas, in game 6 last season to win that series. I believe it was a 6-2 score.

      • JB – I would humbly suggest the pressure is on both as someone will be going home at the end versus moving to the second round. It’s the playoffs and being number one seed means nothing at this point. You don’t need a long term memory to recall Boston last year for example.

  15. knights fan in minny

the perfect pass on the pp is not working throw it at the net big bodies like kolly did ottnengr is still damm good

    • vgk21

The PP needs a shooter in the right circle. 20 is hurting the first unit PP because he won’t shoot. That allows the defending team to overplay Jack on the other side of the ice.

      • knights fan in minny

you got that right vgk 21 how come marchy is not there

  16. knights fan in minny

thy need to get wild bill on the board

TnT did excellent job , they are light years ahead of ESpn and their woke broke sick/twisted agenda, no wonder disney owns them. Or did.

    Round 1 Game 6 VGK 2, DAL 0

Adin Hill made 23 saves, and the Vegas Golden Knights stayed alive by defeating the Dallas Stars 2-0 in Game 6 of the Western Conference First Round at T-Mobile Arena on Friday.

I could barely watch late in the 2nd period when Carrier took a holding penalty. Killing that one off was huge. Disappointed that we did not get a PPG.

What a stinging defeat for the “stars”. Little white dward stars that are about to burn out, collapse and become black holes! What made this victory even more delicious that it was is the fact that LTIR Stone and the team acquisition of Noah Hanifan served it up as a dish that I am sure Dallas and its fan base is still choking on.

Let’s hope that we can make this a long term hated memory for that franchise and its fan base by winning game 7!

I agree with Ken’s 3 Stars. At the game, Adin Hill was given the 2nd star. He deserved the #1 star for the shutout and numerous high danger chances, especially the one where he made multiple saves.

  19. Richie-Rich

    White dwarf implodes….

  20. Great win – amazing what can happen when you shoot at the net and the goalie is screened. Hanifin made a great shot and 55 for Vegas had Dallas goalie screened which I notice reading all the post people neglected to mention. IF they will do that more often on Sunday, they have a better than average opportunity to close out the series with a win and head to the second round. Tired of reading about DeBoer game seven winning streak – puncture the ballon boys and go on from there. Dallas is a good team but no better, despite what some have posted, than the reigning Stanley Cup Champions Vegas Golden Knights. “It’s all in the state of mine”

  21. If the Undertaker could lose his undefeated streak at Wrestlemani, hence so can Deboer lose his on Sunday!

It will obviously take a concentrated and concerted effort to do so, all will be made easier if Marchy,, Karly and Hertl can find that little extra to put us over the top.

Totally agree with a couple of posters that Marchy should be utilized on PP1, as Stephenson is certainly not the answer, though I do like him better on the left hand side, though I know that is Eichels fave location too.

Lastly, there are extremely very few professional athletes that can go ‘balls to the wall’ for an entire season, it’s simply not done nor humanly possible for what they have to put their bodies through.

And yes I will agree that making excuses is just that, ….making excuses …. for a poor game or showing, effort wasn’t there, tired legs ad nauseum, some times the other team is simply better on a given night or series of nights, it happens, learn from it, grow from it and be better off for it!!

  22. Specifically I meant I like Marchy shooting from the left hand side not Stephenson.
