Recap: The Golden Knights hosted former coach Pete DeBoer and the Dallas Stars for an MLK Day matinee. The Stars opened the scoring 5:45 into the 1st period and held on to a 1-0 lead after twenty minutes of play.
Dallas fought off several 2nd period attacks from Vegas, keeping the Golden Knights off the board for the second straight period. The Stars extended their lead to 2-0 before heading into the 2nd intermission.
The Stars extended their advantage in the final period to 4-0. The Golden Knights just couldn’t get their offense moving enough to get one by Dallas’ goalie Jake Oettinger.
The Golden Knights’ record drops to 28-15-2 losing to Stars 4-0. Vegas will try and break their losing streak on Thursday night against the Detroit Red Wings. Puck drop vs. Detroit is scheduled for 7 PM. (Recap by Jason)
Analysis: The Golden Knights played exactly the way you cannot play against a DeBoer team. Couldn’t find a way to get their forecheck going and it led to a listless performance the entire night. Very poor game. (Analysis by Ken)

Ice is equal for both teams so thats a weak excuse. We have had the same issues for the past 3 years, we have high priced players who don’t want to get hit or hit the other team. They get the puck, see an opposing player heading there way so they get rid of the puck so they won’t have to take the hit. I give all hockey players a lot of Credit but lately ours have been allowing teams not even close to us(on paper at least) to just run ruffshod on us. It’s disappointing to know we have the talent but just can’t seem to get our heads out of our asses.

Sometimes the good ice is on one side of the rink, or at one end of the rink. Sometimes the bad ice is at one end of the rink. If there wasn’t such a thing as bad ice, why do you think they bring the zamboni out to clear the ice at end of each period? Why do you think that during time outs they bring out the crew with shovels to clean up the ice? The fake hockey god posting here is a moron. And some teams are impacted by bad ice, fast players aren’t as fast, and it tends to favor the team that has more “muckers” on their roster than a fast team. So yes bad ice matters. BIM

Where’s Don Meredith to sing Turn Out The Lights because this team has about as much explosion as a half inch firecracker.

It was an NHL team versus the VGK (an AHL team with a few disinterested NHL guys). Hard to stay awake watching this. What is being exposed again is the lack of fire and the lack of minor league quality. When you lose games like this, you have to make the other team take a few lumps, but nothing. Dallas had a scrimmage out there. Even when the team is healthy, there are holes that will prevent a good playoff run. I agree the experiment is over. Keep the guys who we are stuck with via no trade clauses, keep Stone, Carrier and Smith. Everything else on the table for draft picks and guys who want to win. While we’re at it, time for new GM and President as the run is over. We will remember them as the guys that didn’t recognize the talent traded away, and various other fatal errors.

Even if these guys make the playoffs we all know they will get embarrassed so it’s time to start being honest here. Chemistry seems to be a problem now I think most posters would agree. If you recall our first year was magic and I’ll take that a step further our second year was also magical until a bad call against San Jose in the playoffs. Were up 3 zip with 5 minutes to go and you can blame Fleury or Gallant for not calling timeout but that ended the Knights chemistry. After that they fire Gallant in year 3, tinker with the lineup, bring in non misfits, let misfits go, trade numerous draft picks and here we are in year 6 with no chemistry and a bunch of wanna-be players. My friends we have seen the best of he Knights in year one and two so I hope you enjoyed it I know I did. This version of the Knights not so much.
