Praise Be To Foley, Vegas Golden Knights Hockey Website

Recap: The Golden Knights got off to a tough start against the Colorado Avalanche. Colorado opened the scoring seven minutes into the game and doubled their lead moments later. After 20 minutes the reigning Stanley Cup champions trailed 2-0.

Vegas’ offense continued to struggle generating offense in the middle frame. Tomas Hertl tipped in what appeared to be the Golden Knight’s first goal but it was called off because of goalie interference. Before the break Colorado scored to take a three goal lead.

Quickly into the final period Ivan Barbashev began Vegas’ comeback attempt. The Golden Knights were awarded a final frame power play which William Karlsson took advantage of it. Karlsson later tied the game 3-3 with his 30th goal of the season. Tomas Hertl deflected a Jack Eichel shot in overtime to come back and win 4-3.

The Golden Knights record improves to 44-28-8 defeating the Avalanche in OT. Vegas will suit for their second to last regular season game of 2023-24 on Tuesday night against the Chicago Blackhawks. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 PM. (Recap by Jason)

Analysis: The Golden Knights were nowhere to be found for the first 40 minutes of this game. But, after a backhanded wraparound goal got them on the board, they started cooking. William Karlsson was the regulation hero burying two and then Tomas Hertl tipped in the game-winner in OT. What a comeback and the Golden Knights are still alive to grab the 3rd seed in the Pacific. Unsavory But Not Illegal: Regarding Golden Knights’ Cap Circumvention

If Healthy, The Golden Knights Have Tons Of Lineup Options

  1. Pistol Pete

Statement win. Edge out the Avs in the season series. Nice send off to the playoffs. Triple digits still possible (fwiw)!

  2. JB

Well, I guess the boys want to play Edmonton? They just might if the win the final two.

  3. vgk21

    Great comeback win.

Hertl gives the Vgk just what they needed…. a player who can win faceoffs, and can make things happen in front of the goalie. He also gives them a boost in the room with his winning personality.

  4. knights fan in minny

well that was nice wild bill keeps rolling hell of a pass from howdy to wild bill vegas has a net front presence hertl is a diffrence maker tomas is great in the face off circle good spot for mantha on the bench he has fallen off goaltending needs to sharpen up

    • TS

Kfim, ” good spot on the bench for Mantha” is too funny!! Gotta have a few bench- warmers!

    • Henderson 1

Did you notice in the face off prior to the game winning goal Hertl moved #15 a little to his right then hit him perfectly with the puck.

  5. Jose

One of our strengths last year was rolling four lines. They don’t really do that anymore.

  6. Pistol Pete

That was a rough two days for the Avs. Losing 7-0 to the Jets and blowing a 3-0 third period lead to the VGK. Nice to have a third period go the other way for a change!

  7. knights fan in minny

gm kelly hell of a job getting hertl and hanifin

  8. Carl

My faith in the Las Vegas Golden Knights is restored. Save for a couple of meltdowns this smells like a team that’s peaking. Bring back 61 and I like our chances.

  9. Jack Hammer

If Jesus had some idea where he was headed, he didn’t know how to get there yet.— A funny thing about fate, my friend, it hides from us even as it seeks us out.

The answers Jesus sought lay outside Jewish teaching. Its conservatism, its insularity, its stolid adherence to the will of the fathers, only impeded him. His was a creative urge, his desire neither to quarrel with G-d, nor reconcile, but to remake the world according to an intuition. (The enormity of it only occurred to me by degrees.)

No Hebrew School, no Qabalah, no lost years studying Buddhism in India, (honestly!), indeed nothing outside a direct experience of the world in- formed Jesus’ thought. Jesus’ ideas took shape in brilliant flashes of anger, quite often in response to the daily exigencies of his life, not as metaphysical musings.

And so he roamed. The roaming helped him think. In these later years this roaming became more frequent, more manic, more concentric, like a comet falling out of orbit … or prisoner pacing a cell.

We roamed without a plan, though I soon spied a chance to roll the plot forward an inch.

We’d left Mary Magdalene and Jerusalem with that peculiar Sunday regret one feels fleeing back home after an eventful weekend with many scenes and incidents yet to be assimilated. City lights winked out as we travelled into the distance, and a vast silence came down from the night sky. Camp- fires burned in the valley below. And in the midst of our solitude a feeling of peace settled upon us— and that connection with all the world one feels reading late into the night of white whales and mountain crossings and old men’s winter nights….

We’d rounded a steep dune and come upon an encampment. Smoke rose from cook fires, and a patchwork of tents fluttered in the evening breeze in the dale below.

    “Fuck! These blisters bro.”

“You’ve always been a bit of a pussy, Beez.” “Yeah, well.”

“Come on, we’ll stay the night.” And Jesus set up a racket as he ran down the side of a dune, leaping and sinking into the sand as he went.

“Wait for me,” I yelled, gamboling—yes, the Devil gamboling—after Jesus.

Camels snorted and kicked at clods of dung. “Why don’t you grab some of that gold, maybe we can trade it for food.”

Jesus laughed and chucked a handful of shit at me. I leaped adroitly aside. (Whatever else, the Devil is fastidious in his appearance.)

Shadows lengthened and night came swiftly upon the desert as we ran toward the tents.

“Quo vadis?” came a voice from the darkness.

“Quo vadis?” came a second voice in the popular thieves’ Latin.

A group of thugs blocked our way.

“I am the way,” came a voice behind me, and as I turned to look, Jesus slipped past me into the breech. A knife flashed in the hand of one of the hoods and my heart leapt up, and all my preternatural strength came rushing into my limbs.— Understand, my friend, I’d committed body and soul to Jesus.

Jesus pulled up short to show he harbored no bad intentions, then he did that thing, clapping his hand around the back of this fellow’s neck and pulling him close, forehead to forehead.

A gasp came from the group. Figures moved uneasily in the background. The fellow in Jesus’ em- brace shifted his weight; Jesus shifted his, holding firm. After about a quarter of a minute, the guy broke free.

“Bro, come with us,” he said excitedly, like a kid anxious to show off a new trick. “Come, come!”

We followed the little gangsters into camp, eyes all around us from edges of campfires and tent flaps.

In the middle was a great tent lit from within. Two centurions stood guard. Roman guards before a Jewish tent.

Some kind of big-wig stepped out into the night. He had a great belly and that peculiar grace- fulness given to certain large men. He wore green eye shadow.

    “Come in,” he said.

Pretty boys and pretty girls lay on silk cushions, frankincense smoldered in a brass urn and the sound of an oud echoed in the night.

“You two managed to get past my dogs, that’s something. Sit, sit, you’re not on trial.”

Jesus threw himself onto a couch and stared back at our host.

“And you,” he said, eying me narrowly. “What have we here?”

    “Knowest me, Abba?”

    “I think not.”

“Old Hathakriel?” I said, arranging myself on a pillow next to a dark-eyed thing. “Who?”

    “Abbadon … of late.”

    “Doesn’t ring a bell.”

“I plucked it off along with my tail.”

“I can’t make heads or tails of that.”

“None the less, Caiaphas, we’re here to collect.” “Collect what? do tell.”

“Justice or injustice, it’s all the same.”

“Oh, I dare say there’s a great deal of difference.” “Not to us … All’s ordained; render however you like.”

    “I don’t think I like that.”

“I’ve made no arrangements. No deals….”

The man was clearly nonplussed; not, however, being the kind of man who likes to let his discom- fiture show—the kind of man for whom lack of sophistication is the most cardinal of sins—he played along, hoping to catch on to the game.

“Well now, I think I see. You’ve information….” “Nothing the prophets haven’t already told.” “That being?”

    “Why the future, man.”

“Oh, this is a wicked game.”

    “That’s a word.”

jack hammer you dumb ass how do you know jesus is real

  11. Ken, would you kindly explain the exact playoff implications should VGK end up in a points tie with either the Preds or Kings.

    Thank you.

    • The first tiebreaker is regulation wins. NSH have 38, LAK have 37, VGK have just 33. Thus, VGK will lose the tiebreaker to both of those teams.

  12. TS

Holy cow..I did NOT see that 3rd period coming! I actually leftin the 3rd. Listening on radio, thinking it was O-ver, and then, in the short span left, tie! The OT goal in lightning quick time,..I must have looked crazy driving, windows down and celebrating at the same time! What a finish!!

    • Richie-Rich

I was at the game and the STH couple next to us left early and missed the comeback. Great game!

      • TS

Rr, I spoke with 3 different families this morning, and EVERY one of them went to the game and were ready to leave T- mobile in the 3rd, and THEN the eruption !! It musta been THUNDEROUS in there!

  13. Ken, thank you so much for the incredibly rapid response!!

Though I’m still waiting to find out Hertl’s response to that particular 5 minute bullshit penalty !

  14. ThG

seems like a lively crowd, i was in church; anyone know what happened to MAntha? He didn’t have a lot of shifts and left bench for awhile.

  15. Frank

Probably the worst goaltender interference call I have ever witnessed. Was at the game and glad the boys woke up in the third….. Hertl deserved the game winner, and Wild Bill was on fire. First goal on Hill was atrocious. Can’t give those types of softies up in the playoffs……..

  16. Jack Hammer

ThG, God Bless you. I hope you enjoyed the mass.

Anthony Mantha is okay. Coach Cassidy changed the lines and shortened the bench after the first period.

    • Henderson One

Hill is not the same goalie that did so well in the playoffs last year.

      • TS

Henderson, watching Hill, he doesn’t seem to follow the puck as well. He loses sight of it, and goals slip by him.Definitely an issue..

      • ThG

He appears to be dealing with lingering injury. HE will get better as time goes on.

        Have faith

Game 80 Analysis VGK 4 COL 3 WIN OT

    VGK records now stands at 44-28-8, 96pts .600, +23 GF/GA

The Avalanche came into the Fortress after a 7-0 beat down by the Coyotes the night before and pretty much dominated the game through 2 periods.

Period 1: The VGK did come out strong in the first period but at the 7:26 mark a pass to Karlsson in the Avs zone rolled off of his stick and wound up being a turnover. Ross Colton then threw a softie on net that somehow evaded a sleeping Adin Hill giving Colorado the 1-0 lead. After that goal momentum swung to Colorado and the Knights appeared to be deflated. With the Avalanche energized by the soft goal, shortly thereafter, at the 10:34 mark Hanifan lost a puck battle behind the goal resulting in a turnover to Colorado. Making matters worse was Hague being out of position allowing a point blank blast past Hill by Makar, 2-0 Avalanche. You simply cannot lose track of Colorado’s best players in your own zone and give them easy chances. Hague’s miscue wound up to be Makar’s feast from about 15 feet.

Period 2: Mikko Rantanen’s goal in the 2nd period gave the Avalanche what appeared to be an insurmountable 3-0 lead. On the play, Jack Eichel failed to take the body as Manchin entered the zone and instead attempted a weak poke check that failed miserably. Manchin passed back to Nichushkin who sent a pass to the right of Hill where Rantanen was waiting all alone uncovered. On the play, Theodore was caught completely out of position to the left of Hill with McNabb leaving the back door completely open. To complicate matters Pavel Dorofeyev took a hooking penalty with 9 seconds left in the period, leaving the VGK with having to be on the PK for nearly the first two minutes of period 3.

Period 3: Either the VGK came out determined to step up their game, or the Avalanche just ran out of steam on a back-to-back. Regardless, the VGK was able to kill off the penalty to Dorofeyev and storm back to tie the game and win in OT!

This win keeps the VGK (96 pts) within 1 point of the Kings (97 pts) for 3rd place in the Pacific. The VGK play Chicago and Anaheim at home to finish the season, whereas LA plays Minnesota and Chicago at home to finish their season. Let the battle for 3rd place continue!

I have to say that when the VGK “turns on their afterburners” they are Champions. Too often it appears as if they are going through the motions and play too inconsistently. Defensemen out of position on 2 of the 3 goals today is an issue. Hague, Whitecloud and Theodore are not as good defensively as Pietrangelo and Martinez. It’s not even close. If the VGK are going to repeat #7 and #23 are going to be needed on D1.

Stars, all original misfits just because…..
    1st Star – William Karlsson
    2 Star – Tomas Hertl
    3 Star – Ivan Barbashev

    • Pistol Pete

Nice to see Pav get the primary assist on Karlsson’’s PP goal.

  19. I obviously expect Stoney back in the lineup very early in the opening series…perhaps game 1…i also obviously dont get expect to see Carrier back anytime soon unfortunately…so who sits?….regardless to anything else Howden cannot come out…he has been playing well and is feisty and greasy enough to have a spot…crazy as it sounds I would put him with Jack and Marchy…and keep Barbashev on the 4th line…as that would definitely be our energy line once more and create havoc…Cotter will almost definitely be sitting so that leaves a choice between Mantha and Amadio…not my favorite choices at all…but I suppose Mantha would draw in simply on a wing and a prayer he might use that big body for something productive!

    • ThG

That would be a miracle, Stone is no where near 100%. When he takes off the red contact jersey, or has no set backs in the mornings then you can make a better prediction. He was pretty sore after the first two red shirt sessions. I think he’s just showing up giving the team support.

  20. JB

Ammo is a hard worker and a smart player. I would hope to see him in the lineup. As far as who we play in first round: Any matchup will be tuff, but I think Dallas would be better for us in round one. So, I’m rooting we keep playing well our last two games but also would like to see LA win their two games and stay in third!

worthless veggie joe sending military to help guard Israeli border but not are border h lets scumbag illegals waltz across our border what a piece of shit

    • Richie-Rich

knights fan, Liberals believe that the millions pouring across our southern border are “asylum seekers”……!!!!! Actually – they are

      – Chinese infiltrators
      – Gang members and criminals from various Central and South American countries
      – Jobless/Homeless poor that countries want to get rid of
      – Terrorists

Stephanie Phillips, running for Senate, recently posted a video on Facebook. She stopped and interviewed hundreds of “refugees” coming in illegally from places like Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nigeria, Congo, Venezuela, Peru, Nicaragua, China, Indonesia and even some Cubans.

You cannot have a country when the nation’s borders are wide open for anyone to come in. Even when caught, they give a false name and are being bussed to places across the country with taxpayer dollars given to non-governmental organizations tied to the Democratic Party.

As they say at the Fortress SHAME, SHAME, SHAME, SHAME

The Dems presented a comprehensive Border Bill months ago,
but Shadow Potus TRUMP ordered his minions in Congress to reject ANY solutions, because it would actually SOLVE THE BORDER PROBLEM!! Repubs have no interest in actually FIXING the Border, but only to use it as the HAMMER to beat up on Dems!SHAME ON TRUMP and REPUBS!!

        • Richie-Rich

False, that “comprehensive” border bill you are talking about codified into law “catch and release”, and provided funding to ensure that those coming here illegally would have a smoother process to get benefits and settled. Read the bill.

        • Richie-Rich

Since you probably did not read the bill and get your info from liberal media, here’s a summary of your comprehensive border bill proposed by morons in the Senate.

The bill contained a “dirty dozen” fatal flaws. The most serious “codifies catch-and-release,” the process whereby an illegal immigrant is detained and interviewed by U.S. immigration officials, given a date to appear in immigration court, and then released into the country.

The bill gives the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) “unchecked authority to release an alien into the United States under ineffective ‘alternatives to detention.’”

“The Secretary of Homeland Security is only required to shut down the border if there are 5,000 average illegal crossings over a consecutive seven-day period or 8,500 in a single day,”! THAT’S RIDICULOUS!!!!

The Bill also allows for the president to “reopen the border any time it is in the ‘national interest to temporarily suspend the border emergency authority’ for up to 45 days.”

The bill would have created a dangerous expansion of parole by saying it can now be granted for anyone the DHS secretary determines has an ‘urgent humanitarian reason. ZERO DEPORTATIONS, NONE, EVEN GANG MEMBERS AND PRIOR CRIMINALS STAY.

The Bill would have allowed illegal immigrants to be given work permits as soon as they pass an initial screening by immigration authorities.
The number of available green cards is increased by 50,000 annually under the new bill.
The bill also includes a budgeting gimmick whereby $650 million of the funding for continuing to build the border wall begun by President Trump is rescinded, then restored in 2028. Not a single foot of new wall would be built as a result.
