Vegas took a penalty in the middle of the 1st and it led quickly to a goal by the Avalanche. However, an Alex Tuch forecheck, following by a nice pass helped Paul Stastny get on the board and tie it up. The Golden Knights controlled the 2nd period but couldn’t find the back of the net. Then, in the 3rd, what looked like a harmless shot from the point by Brandon Pirri found its way all the way through and past Philipp Grubauer. The Avs made a push, especially late with two straight power plays, but couldn’t tie it up.

VGK did a tremendous job against the Colorado top line too. That's the story of the night without a doubt.

That's a really nice win coming off the break. VGK outplayed the Avs for a majority of the game and absolutely earned that one.

Nice shutdown win. 43 shots on goal and what felt like 35 wide. There was some rust for sure, but an excellent grinding win. Carrier only 6 minutes on the ice ( with 5 hits)? Here’s an idea…..Pirri stays and Lindberg goes to Chicago when Max returns.
