VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS 3 CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS 1 (45-28-8, 98 PTS)

Recap: The Golden Knights were trying to continue their winning ways with a victory over the Chicago Blackhawks. Both teams missed their chances in the opening period resulting in a scoreless tie going into the first intermission.

Late in the second period Vegas defenseman Brayden McNabb recorded his fourth goal of the season. The reigning champions carried a 1-0 lead into the break.

Michael Amadio doubled the Golden Knights lead with a highlight individual play. First Amadio pickpocketed a Blackhawk and followed it up by roofing a puck into in the net. Chicago broke up Vegas’ shutout with a late game goal but the Golden Knights sealed it with an empty netter shortly after.

The Golden Knights record improves to 45-28-8 defeating the Blackhawks 3-1. Vegas will finish off the regular season on Thursday night against the Anaheim Ducks. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 PM. (Recap by Jason)

Analysis: It wasn’t the most exciting game in the history of the NHL but eventually the Golden Knights did enough to get the job done against a miserable team. VGK controlled the game territorially most of the night and converted on a few of their many great chances. (Analysis by Ken)

Game 81 Analysis VGK 3 CHI 1 WIN

    VGK records now stands at 45-28-8, 98pts .605, +25 GF/GA

My wife and I didn’t know what to expect this evening. Rondbjerg up, Mantha & Stephenson out. Playing a Chicago team that’s building for the future. If there’s one thing we’ve learned this year, you never know what you are going to get out of the Golden Knights on any given night. Anywho, plenty of Chicago red jerseys. Was it me, or was every single one of the hundreds of fans wearing #98 Bedard jerseys?

    Period 1: Complete dull fest

Period 2: McNabber does the twist and it goes like this…..*#$(#>>>> past Mrazek on his knees

Period 3: The VGK was the better team pretty much throughout. They extended the lead with a Michael Amadio goal. Of course, there had to be drama with a Chicago goal at around the 16 minute mark (p.s., wife had to work so we boogied out around the 10 minute mark). Damn, a shut out would have helped my fantasy team. Oh well. In any case, Roy gets the empty netter for a 3-1 win and just like that the Golden Knights jump up into third place.

The Golden Knights now can control that position with a win on Thursday over the Ducks.

I want to give Dorofeyev a star because he had 3 very very high danger chances in this game, one of which hit the underside of the crossbar that fooled everyone. Replay showed that the puck didn’t go in. I remain super impressed with Dorofeyev’s progress this season. He came very close to scoring a hatty and 4 points. His skating, puck handling and IQ are all looking very good. I don’t see how Cassidy doesn’t play him. I actually like Dorofeyev more than Amadio. Can he crack the playoff lineup? We shall see.

Stars, all original misfits just because…..
    1st Star – Brayden McNabb
    2 Star – Michael Amadio
    3 Star – Tomas Hertl

    NEXT UP 4/18 Anaheim at home 26-50-5 (57 pts), .352 -94 GF/GA

Win this game and lock in 3rd place in the Pacific and the #6 seed. I think playing quality hockey right now is more important than where they wind up at. Cassidy has said no one has been ruled out due to injury. We have to hope that Stone, Petro and Carrier are ready to play without needing a game or 2 to get their legs. I actually saw someone else in my section with a retro #43 Cotter jersey tonight. Man, he has had a rough season. Someone needs to make him sleep in a goal net. He’s been hard to watch.

THERE ARE 2 REMAINING GAMES IN THE SEASON.

R-R I would have give at least a star to Dorofeyev. Not only did his entry and control of the puck lead to his hard shot generating a rebound and the goal but he also has a breakaway on the PP and nearly roofed a backhand for a goal on another rush for what was initially a goal and then called back when it became clear it went off the crossbar and did not go in. Always seems to be in the play, landing shots and as defensively responsible as ever. Now over half a point for the season and exactly half a point for his career.

      • Richie-Rich

I will give Dorofeyev the 4th Star, or well maybe a minor planet (LOL). Almost scoring don’t get you a star, but he did stand out! At least he knows where the net is, Cotter couldn’t find it if he was locked up in a 4ftx4ft room with it.

    • Emmanuel

I think Bedard will be a Patrick Kane type player. 35G-55A.
He’s definately moving to the wing when the team gets deeper.
Hes not big enough for C.

      • Richie-Rich

Bedard’s a phenom for sure. He will get better, and I agree he belongs on the wing. Too bad he’s on a bottom feeding team. I think he would flourish in our system here Henderson and grow into a NHL roster. He’s being forced. Could ruin him.

Better learn to keep his head up.

    Edmonton here e come! Probably.

  3. Pistol Pete

Assuming Kings beat the Blackhawks we’ll need to beat the Ducks to play EDM otherwise we play Dallas. Seems unlikely Kings lose to Chicago but that is the only way to play EDM if we don’t win #82. Look like Kings and Preds win the tiebreaker (more RW’s) against us should we get to 99 with an OTL vs. ANA.

  4. ThG

    hectic night in nhl
as flyers pull goalie in tie game, and caps back into playoff spot
    scoring empty net goal

toronto gets smoked by panthers in period 2 who scored four goals
and franchise high of 37 shots on goal

meanwhile joeflation is still out of control, like our borders our, the world is on fire under his watch and MIA JOE, took another vacation (most in history for a WH pResident) mumbling to himself over and over ‘who am I’ ‘where am I’ ‘ why me’.
    Pathetic.

    • JB

Meanwhile trump sets at defendants table mumbling to himself, I did it, I did it all.

  5. JB

LA will tank it vs Chicago. They are afraid to play Edmonton. We are not afraid to play anyone!

    • Niggles

I agree. It looked to me like Kings were trying to lose last night as well.

So, one of two old men is going to win the coming election. Slow movin Joe who may not be able to finish his term and give it over to VP Harris. Or trump the wanna be dictator/king, who will trample over the constitution and sew discord throughout the country. For me nothing will change as I approach the final time of my life. The country will get whatever it wants. A bad choice or a horrible one.

    • knights fan in minny

where is this dictator crap coming from veggie jo is more of a dictator then anyone

      • JB

Come on minny. You know WHAT trump is. At least be honest about it.

        • knights fan in minny

how about that i just read house mortgage up 50 percent in vegas good job veggie joe

        • knights fan in minny

what has trump don that makes him a dictator blunder jo saying we will get rid of all gas cars so you will have to drive a ev thats being a dictator that wont happen evs are failing another veggie jo fail nothing new

      • Richie-Rich

It is a fact that both Obama and Biden have admittedly acted like dictators and have publicly even stated so. The Dreamers Executive Order, ObamaCare are two of Obama’s edicts from his throne. He also droned an American citizen.

Today, Senate Democrats violated the Constitution by not holding an impeachment trial on DHS Mayorkas who has been Biden’s open border policy guy.

Dictator Biden has violated his oath and has acted as a dictator by refusing to uphold immigration law and failing to secure our nation’s border.

The Democrats have a growing list of acts of dictatorship. They are well documented. There is zero evidence that Trump wants to be an Emperor or King. As a independent liberty freedom lover, Trump’s policies were fantastic across the board, except for his support for the COVID jabs.

    • TS

Jb, Reality, it is. Either the old guy or the corrupt guy. Which one will outlast the other, based on the trajectory of the two.
