Recap: The Golden Knights and Arizona Coyotes met for their preseason finales up in Idaho. It didn’t take long before Chandler Stephenson gave his team the opening lead with his third exhibition goal. 75 seconds later Nic Roy added to VGK’s lead. With five minutes left in the period Jonathan Marchessaault scored to extend Vegas’ lead 3-0. Arizona scored late in the period to get within two.
The 2nd period was uneventful with neither team finding the back of the net.
Vegas turned it on offensively in the final period, receiving goals from Jack Eichel and Alex Pietrangelo. The two veterans gave their team a commanding 5-1 lead as they closed out the preseason.
The Golden Knights finish the preseason 4-2-1 as they prepare for the 2022-23 season opener in LA on Tuesday night. The game is scheduled for 7 PM. (Recap by Jason)

Good effort. I saw more quick, crisp passing, more net attacks, PP was productive( how about that!), Stephenson, Roy, Cotter, Marchy had really good games. I liked Kolesar, Roy, Cotter together. Coach WANTS to get our D involved in offense more, and I think it is working…Petro’s rocket- shot goal was nice. LT was sharp, extremely active..nearly flawless. He looks ready!
Lots of different scorers….good production all around. Cassidy looked pleased at the end of game… I think his system is starting to pay off, and players are adapting. I like the faster pace Cassidy wants, and I feel our new look will be positive. Other teams are going to have to adapt to OUR newer pace and play, instead of us chasing the puck. I see more speed, better passing, better net play…more toughness and effort.

No f-ing way! That is awful! Hague on this team or off this team makes very very little difference. That is 3x Hutton’s salary for a player that is not net better and 3x Korczak’s salary who is ready to invest in NOW. I hope there is some behind the scenes stuff going on that makes this make sense.

Completely agree Blitz. Derzi got 1.7M. Sandin got 1.4M if you want comparable. And Sandin had more Hits than a guy 7 inches taller than him last season in about the same amount of games. This front office STILL hasn’t learned to stop overpaying. SMFH.

JV, the Sean Durzi comp is particularly distressing. Durzi is a much better player then Hague. Durzi getting 1.7 shows Hague was definitely overpaid.
