The Connection Between Tomas Hertl’s Faceoffs And VGK’s Power Play Success

  1. Jack Hammer

In the glitzy arena of San Jose, the Vegas Golden Knights put on a dazzling performance, trouncing the Sharks 4-2 in a night of sheer domination. Mark Stone and Jack Eichel were nothing short of majestic, weaving through the ice with an air of regal command, their every movement a flawless symphony of precision and power. Together, they left the Sharks gasping for air, controlling every inch with a brilliance that made the crowd’s cheers feel like whispers. Alex Pietrangelo, equally magnetic, anchored the defense with elegant force. But the true lesson of the evening came for the Sharks’ rookie, Macklin Celebrini. In the face of this elegant destruction, Celebrini was humbled, not just by the scoreline but by the intensity, grit, and sophistication on display. It was a night that would shape him into not only a sharper player but a more resilient, refined individual, learning the art of both humility and greatness.

    • Jose

Celebrini is a generational talent and a really special player. At some point in the future, he is going to be a problem, but for now, the VGK is his daddy

      • TS

How bout that Stone long- stick pocket- picking in the 3rd, dishing to Hertyl for the emptt- netter? Stone is a master of the unexpected!

    • TS

Jac k, i am impressed at your post! You obviously have a gift of writing, really glad you used it for this hockey analysis! Carry on!

  2. Rashaad

Like Hammer said, Eichel and Stone were unstoppable. Dorofeyev and Hanifin had a great shift at the end of the second period that led to the penalty giving the nights the power-play to start the third period which they capitalized on.

It’s crazy how this group of very good players got better this year. As good as Stone and Eichel were last year, they are better this year. Howden and Kolesar keeping their Swiss Army knife thing going playing well up and down the lineup. Whitecloud and Hague are back after tough seasons last year. Loving this.

  3. Outside of an excellent power play by the sharks I’m not sure how VGK could possibly play any better in every phase of the game…. Offensively defensively forechecking backchecking….give credit to their goalie as well as he kept them in the game…but a terrific dominant overall effort!

    Game 40 Analysis VGK 4, SJS 2
    Pacific 1st Place 28-9-3, 59pts, +36gf/ga
Western 1st Place, 1pt ahead of the Jets w/2 games in hand
    League 1st Place

The boys beat a team that is rebuilding. It is a game that they should have won easily. The Sharks kept it close and interesting. Celebrini is already a star at age 18.

Very good forecheck by the Golden Knights and while this game was close, it was never really in doubt.

Next up is the Islanders on Thursday at home.
NYI 15-18-7, 37pts 8th place in the Metro, 27th in the league

Another 2 points on the line and a chance to continue beating the teams that the VGK should. The Islanders are a strange team. Lots of talent, much like the Predators but its not translating to wins. Lee, Horvat, Barzal, Palmeiri.. all very good players.

Sammy again good. Their guy very good. Nice complete game by the boys. Jack and Stoney, what can you say? Just fantastic! Rolling over the West, with many games coming up against the beasts of the East. Edmonton and LA keep winning also. Going to be a dog fight for the division!

⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️ effort against a lowly team, remaining motivated is key and accolades due to coaching staff.( Meanwhile we have posters who are clueless using descriptive words that don’t apply to hockey. Which is totally gay in this sports world. Probably has green or blue hair, piercing where you don’t want to know, and speak with that gay accent that you can’t comprehend. )

Sez me, where’s PP and his usual not noteworthy opinion? I see HD doesn’t post unless there is something negative to say about Tim or VGK.

WASHINGTON — The Republican-led House passed its first bill of the new Congress on Tuesday — a strict border measure named for a 22-year-old Georgia nursing school student whose murder last year by an immigrant in the country illegally became a flashpoint in the presidential campaign.

The 264-159 vote to pass the Laken Riley Act puts pressure on Senate Democrats to support the legislation when Republicans, who now control the upper chamber, bring it to the floor for an initial vote Friday, which would have been Riley’s 23rd birthday.

All 52 Senate Republicans are co-sponsoring the bill, as is Democratic Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania. That means Republicans need seven more Senate Democrats to reach the 60 votes needed to overcome a filibuster.

“We welcome with open arms any Democrat who wants to help us solve these problems, because the American people demand and deserve it. It’s overdue,” House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., told reporters before the vote.

Fixing problems that BIDEN/HARRIS regime let fester for years. How anyone could vote for these two obvious useless and stupid human beings is beyond me. Says a lot about the state of affairs in USA and how many brain dead voters we have. This nation won’t last another generation based upon the depravity and downward spiral of immoral, degenerative, and downright low IQ acumen of majority of population. Some of which who post here on almost daily basis.

    • Richie-Rich

The Democratic Party is responsible. Obama and Biden both violated their oaths to protect US citizens and prevent a mass invasion of tens of millions coming here as “economic refugees”. In many cases, including the Laiken Riley incident, criminals have been deported numerous times only to be caught and released back into our communities upon illegal reentry.

Obama and Biden should be held civically responsible for their misdeeds. Victims families should file lawsuits against these two and take everything that they own.

I would also like to say that I am also a moderate on this issue. I believe that those who are here producing and contributing should be fined and given a pathway to citizenship. I can only imagine the pain, the disgust and hatred that the families of these victims are feeling towards Democrats, Obama, and Biden.

Twelve (12) days. Count them down. In twelve days, legal and justified retribution is coming. Democrat leaders and specific government workers should retain all of their emails, texts, devices and financial records for the subpoenas that will be forthcoming from the DOJ (Pam Bondi), and FBI (Kash Patel).

I look forward to the live streamed FBI raids on the homes of those involved. However, I do not support the FBI going through the panty drawers of anyone like they did to Melania Trump. That’s too far.

      • TS

Stop the Political Porn on Sinbin, already! Show some restraint, people, and stop crucifying the opposing party. You, RR, are supposed to be “better than that”. So you said. Right??

Conservatives are always told to STFU. We’ve been painted as racist, homophobes, islamophobes, and that we are still responsible for pre-Civil War slavery and post-Civil War bigotry. We are condemned for our pro life positions even if we do have empathy for the situation, we are condemned for wanting a balanced budget and fiscal sanity, border security, and world peace. It’s not conservatives that need to do check their voices, not any longer. It is now time for liberals to acknowledge the mistakes of the political party that has done so much damage to these United States, its territories and to countries around the globe.

    • Richie-Rich

Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) Senator stated today that he is voting for the Act! That’s another potential future Republican! So many Democrats at the state and federal level have walked away. The Democrat Party has lost its way. It’s no longer the party of American labor, it is no longer the anti-establishment party, it has become the establishment it once opposed.

      • The hockey God

Gallego is allegedly deeply tied to Mexican cartels, AZ being such a hotly contested state is breeding hybrid democrats. Remember McCain , and last one, switched to independent. Let’s see if he changes the course.

The blog post delves into the most common causes of death among elderly, a demographic increasingly affected by various health issues. Understanding these causes is crucial for prevention and management. This discussion will explore heart disease, cancer, and chronic lower respiratory diseases, highlighting their prevalence, risk factors, and prevention strategies. The aim is to raise awareness and provide valuable information for older males and their loved ones to foster a proactive approach to health and well-being.

Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in older males, largely due to a combination of genetic predisposition, lifestyle choices, and age-related physiological changes. Factors such as a sedentary lifestyle, unhealthy diet, smoking, and stress significantly contribute to the development of heart-related issues. Additionally, conditions like hypertension and high cholesterol, more common in older age, can further exacerbate the risk of heart disease.

Prevention and management of heart disease are crucial and achievable through various means. Regular physical activity, a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, and avoiding tobacco and excessive alcohol can drastically reduce the risk. Medical interventions, including medications for blood pressure and cholesterol, play a vital role. Equally important is regular health monitoring and screenings for early detection and prompt treatment of heart-related conditions.

    • Donald J Trump

Cancer is a major health concern for older males, with prostate, lung, and colorectal cancers being the most prevalent. These cancers often develop silently, making early detection challenging. Symptoms, such as urinary difficulties for prostate cancer or persistent cough for lung cancer, may appear subtle initially but are crucial for early diagnosis. Lifestyle factors, including smoking, diet, and exposure to carcinogens, significantly influence cancer risk.

Emphasizing early detection through regular screenings, such as PSA tests for prostate cancer and colonoscopies for colorectal cancer, is vital. Treatments vary from surgery and radiation to chemotherapy, depending on the cancer type and stage. Adopting a healthy lifestyle, including quitting smoking, eating a balanced diet, and staying physically active, can also aid in reducing the risk and improving outcomes for cancer patients.

Chronic lower respiratory diseases, particularly chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), are a significant health issue for older males. These diseases impair lung function, leading to symptoms like shortness of breath, chronic cough, and frequent respiratory infections. Factors contributing to the development of these conditions include long-term smoking, occupational hazards, and environmental pollutants. The progressive nature of these diseases often results in a decline in quality of life and increased mortality risk.

Management of chronic respiratory diseases involves a combination of lifestyle changes and medical interventions. Quitting smoking is the most effective step in preventing and slowing the progression of these diseases. Regular exercise can improve lung function and overall health. Medical treatments, such as bronchodilators and corticosteroids, are used to alleviate symptoms and improve breathing. Vaccinations against influenza and pneumonia are also recommended, as these diseases can severely impact individuals with compromised respiratory systems.

Strokes are a major health concern, caused by an interruption of blood flow to the brain. Risk factors include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking, and diabetes. Strokes can result in long-term disabilities, depending on the affected brain area. Symptoms like sudden weakness, difficulty speaking, and loss of coordination necessitate immediate medical attention, as early treatment is critical for recovery.

      • Donald J Trump

Prevention strategies for stroke are focused on controlling risk factors. Managing blood pressure and cholesterol through diet, exercise, and medication is essential. Recognizing and responding to stroke symptoms quickly can also significantly improve outcomes. Regular health check-ups and screenings play a critical role in early detection and management of conditions that could lead to a stroke.

Diabetes, particularly type 2, is increasingly common and poses significant health challenges. It can lead to complications such as kidney disease, vision loss, and cardiovascular problems. Factors like obesity, sedentary lifestyle, and poor diet contribute to its development. Symptoms may include increased thirst, frequent urination, fatigue, and blurred vision, and monitoring blood sugar levels is crucial for management.

Effective management of diabetes involves dietary changes, physical activity, and, in some cases, medication. A diet low in sugar and high in fiber can help regulate blood sugar levels. Regular exercise aids in maintaining a healthy weight and improving insulin sensitivity. Medications and insulin therapy are often necessary to keep blood sugar levels within a normal range. Regular check-ups with healthcare providers are essential for monitoring and adjusting treatment plans.

  9. Donald J Trump

Accidental injuries, such as falls and motor vehicle accidents, are a leading cause of death among older males. Factors contributing to these accidents include decreased mobility, impaired vision, and medication side effects. Falls can result in serious injuries like hip fractures, which can have long-term health consequences. Preventive measures include making environmental modifications to reduce fall risks and ensuring safe driving practices.

Safety measures for preventing accidents include regular vision and hearing check-ups, using assistive devices for mobility, and reviewing medications for side effects that could impair balance or alertness. Homes can be modified with better lighting, handrails, and non-slip surfaces to minimize fall risks. Awareness and education about safe driving practices and the potential need to limit or cease driving are also critical.

    The Bottom Line
Addressing the most common causes of death s requires a multifaceted approach, involving lifestyle changes, regular health screenings, and medical interventions. Awareness of these conditions and their risk factors is essential for prevention and effective management. Early detection plays a crucial role in improving outcomes and maintaining quality of life. It is essential for older males to engage in regular health monitoring and adopt healthy lifestyle practices to mitigate these risks.

However for some posters on this board with obvious substance abuse issues, much more is required. Suggest therapy, lots of it.

Our founding fathers created a government which 200 plus years ago led to hard working family members being elected. Almost all of elected officials were family members with businesses, such as farms, or manufacturing, or some other productive field. They would do their time, represent their fellow citizens ANd RETuRN home after serving their term. Today known many as Republicans. The “community’ commies didn’t exist. The social feel gooders didn’t exist. The bleeding heart liberals didn’t exist. Because society didn’t have any need for them or any use for them. Today’s time it’s different. This has led to over bloated government now out numbering the fewer and fewer productive ones. The scales are unbalanced as the non productive are now being supported by the productive. This leads to more taxes and burdens on the few, and eventually a collapse. Because the few can not sustain the parasites for long. We have one party mainly consistently of members who absolutely are clueless on how to run a business or raise a family. Democrats. AKA parasites. Now this.

The halls of Congress were never meant to become retirement homes. Our Founding Fathers envisioned a government of citizen legislators who would serve their communities and return to private life. Yet today’s Congress stands as the third oldest in American history, with career politicians clinging to power well into their eighties.

This growing crisis of aging leadership came into sharp focus this January as one of the Democratic Party’s most entrenched figures made a striking return to Washington. The one thing she brought with her, however, has everyone talking for all the wrong reasons.

Nancy Pelosi, the 84-year-old former Speaker of the House, navigated the halls of Congress with a walker. Indeed, her signature four-inch stilettos were replaced by practical slip-on flats.

    • Donald J Trump

The congresswoman’s return following a December accident in Luxembourg, where she fell down marble stairs and required emergency hip replacement surgery, raises serious questions about the future of American leadership and the Democratic establishment’s iron grip on power.

When did we accept this as normal? While Pelosi may have stepped down from the speakership, her influence continues to shape Democratic policy and personnel decisions with an iron fist.

      Pelosi Shuts Down AOC
But here’s what’s really telling: Just weeks before her accident, Pelosi orchestrated the blocking of 35-year-old Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) from serving as ranking Democrat on the House Oversight Committee. Instead, Pelosi threw her weight behind 74-year-old Gerry Connolly, who is battling esophageal cancer.

You really can’t make this stuff up.

This wasn’t just about committee assignments. Instead, it was about protecting the old guard’s control over the Democratic Party, even at the cost of fresh perspectives and energetic leadership.

“The Post Millennial has learned that Donald Trump Jr. touched down Tuesday morning in Nuuk, Greenland. His arrival comes just weeks after President-elect Trump declared U.S. ownership of Greenland “an absolute necessity.” Meanwhile, Biden’s team can’t even find Greenland on a map.”

Newscum completely mismanages brush control. CA used to do CONTROLLED Burns. CA used to do BRUSH and UNDERGROWTH management. Now they don’t due to fake “carbon footprint” bull shit. Which doesn’t add up from scientific view point. That is to say (1) CO2 is most inert molecule with it’s double bond, anyone taking Chem101 knows this (liberal arts students/aka media/ don’t know this because they can’t pass Chem101 because most are dumbshits (2) a simple mass and energy balance does not add up to temperature rising as much as projected because the SUN is main driver of temperature and (3) background solar system temperature is rising (4) temperature on Mars is rising – no human issues there (5) no known computer simulation models, chemical reaction models/kinetic models support the green scam. Now CA burns due to dumbchit blue state policies (btw same thing happened in Maui). When will the voters learn that blue is NOT the way.

Now left wing “know it all” TDSer responds with this . Comes up with boogie man, about X, twitter, that doesn’t exist in real life. These liberals live in their own fantasyland. No wonder they lost election.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Mark Zuckerberg wants to be more like Elon Musk but it could be a big misstep for his social media business.

The Meta Platforms CEO outlined a new content-moderation policy for the company’s Facebook and Instagram social-media sites that looks suspiciously like measures taken at Musk’s X. Meta is getting rid of fact checkers and, starting in the U.S., replacing them with crowdsourced community content notes.

On the surface there’s a double benefit—Meta avoids political and regulatory pressure from President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming administration over perceived censorship, while also saving money. Meta spends as much as $5 billion annually on safety and security measures.

However, the reasons why Facebook and Instagram first deployed content moderation haven’t changed. They do have far larger user bases than X and are generally perceived as less politically motivated. But allowing a free-for-all of politicized content could alienate their users and advertisers, who have already fled the X platform.

Perhaps artificial intelligence will eventually provide the answer, but for now AI is more of a problem than a solution. A flood of AI-generated content and interaction with chatbots on Meta’s platforms likely demands more oversight rather than less. Meta recently shut down its own AI accounts on its social-media sites amid a user backlash, while Apple said it would update an AI tool for summarizing headlines after a BBC complaint over misleading notifications.

Scaling back content moderation might seem like a win for free speech—and financially advantageous—but the reputational and legal risks that forced Meta to implement the policies remain. Zuckerberg faces the tough task of juggling a Trump-era political landscape in which Musk and social media loom large and delivering for his business—the two may prove incompatible.

The only person promoting hate and abuse is you Tweaker S. Hypocrite. It’s pretty obvious.

Only person promoting hate and rancor is you TS

or as someone just called you “Tweaker S” , why don’t you take your hate down the road. You have nothing to offer here. NOTHING. You appear to cyber stalk the same person over and over. That is sign of severe mental illnes.

      Yet again.

It appears to many of us that ALL YOU DO is come on this site to trash the same poster over and over, after they make hockey comments on another poster’s comment. It’s getting old. You never make any positive input in these exchanges. People here are sick of you bashing the same person over and over just because they don’t agree with another poster’s comments. Your posts are always the same with nothing absolutely added. It’s getting tiresome, why don’t you give it rest. And NO this isn’t about “if the other person does this or that” then “you will do this or that”. This is ABOUT YOU. And your posts are making you look terrible.

You know your constant comments AFTER one poster here is tiresome. Why don’t you give it a rest. No one comes to this site to see you post the same repetitive garbage that you do after they post. Your posts are basically meaningless. Why don’t you focus on hockey, seems like you have a clear behavior disorder that transcends normalcy. Take a good look in mirror because you are not doing yourself any favors.
