It was their first time back to the SAP Center in San Jose since Game 7 of the playoffs, but it’s a new season and it was a meaningless exhibition game.
Midway through the 1st period, Valentin Zykov picked up a rebound in front of the net and backhanded past Sharks goaltender Martin Jones. San Jose doubled Vegas in shots in the period but the Sharks trailed 1-0 after the opening twenty minutes.
The 2nd period featured a little more offense with each team getting on the scoreboard. Center Cody Glass fed Max Pacioretty for his fourth goal of the preseason for the 2-0 Vegas lead. Glass received a pass from Reilly Smith behind the net and found the open Pacioretty. San Jose would get one back :17 seconds later. Antti Suomela scored on some tick tack toe passing by Marc-Eduard Vlasic and Kevin Labanc. The Golden Knights held the 2-1 edge after two periods of play.
Alex Tuch gave the Golden Knights a two goal lead :58 seconds into the 3rd period. Vegas got an early Power Play and Tuch played catch and snap with Pacioretty into the offensive zone to make it 3-1. Vegas staved off an empty net attack but Marc-Andre Fleury skated off with his first victory of the preseason.
The 4-0 Golden Knights get back to action on Wednesday night at the T-Mobile Arena. Vegas will face Pierre-Eduard Bellemare and his new team the Colorado Avalanche. Puck drops at 7P.(Recap by Jason)

I'm ready to put Glass on the roster out of camp as the 3rd line center. Not because he's better than Eakin but because Glass+Eakin is better than Eakin+Roy/Nosek/whoever else would play 4th line center.
This being said, I'm not Gallant and I don't think they are going that way.

Five months without getting to watch Fleury play was too long.

I am officially a fan of the Alex Tuch PK experiment.

Fact: The last team to go undefeated in the preseason was the Colorado Avalanche in 2016-17.
They went on to go 22-56-4 (48 points) and finish dead last in the regular season.

I love the way Glass plays, he’s ready now, IMOP, just a playmaker. Zykov is really amazing, he’s turned his game way up. My guess is he cleaned up his act, the team might of talked to him, but it’s worked. He’s fast, tough and talented. Tuch is a stud. Fluery was on fire. A couple of young defenseman are ready too. Remember, young good is preferable to old good. I’m optimistic here, we have a shot !!
Clueless and order
what a dumb comment by Gary Lawless tonight. He said that Glass should be sent down if he can’t play in the top 6. Guess what, Gary, Karlsson and Stastny are signed next season too. What should Glass do, gary, sit in the AHL until he is 40???
yeah, Eakin will be gone, but you just said that Glass has to be in the top 6 to play. Quit being a mgmt shill, Lawless.
