Praise Be To Foley, Vegas Golden Knights Hockey Website

Recap: The Golden Knights were looking to pick up more points on their road trip facing off against the New York Rangers. Vegas took the opening lead at the 5:02 mark courtesy of Sheldon Rempal. The 28-year-old scored his second goal in his second straight game. New York evened the score 91 seconds later. After one period of play the game was locked in a 1-1 tie.

Vegas didn’t take long to get their offense going in the 2nd period. First Keegan Kolesar gave the Golden Knights a 2-1 lead 3:03 into the frame and less than a minute later Jonathan Marchessault stretched their advantage.

Marchessault gave Vegas a three-goal lead 2:11 into the final frame, registering his 24th goal of 2023-24. The Rangers added a second goal with under two minutes remaining in the contest. Marchessault recorded a hat trick with seconds winding down.

The Golden Knights record improves to 29-14-6 defeating the Rangers 5-2 in New York City. Vegas will wrap up their east coast road trip tomorrow night in Detroit. Puck drop against the Red Wings is scheduled for 5 PM. (Recap by Jason)

Analysis: This matchup with the Rangers was almost a mirror image to the one eight days ago. New York controlled the puck a lot of the 1st period but couldn’t get too much dangerous in front of the VGK net. Then, as the game wore on, Vegas improved in breaking the puck out and eventually they got enough bodies in front of the goal that they scored plenty. (Analysis by Ken)

Surviving The 1st Period Key To Success For VGK At MSG

Outperforming xG Is The Secret To Success

  1. Pistol Pete

Whatever the squabble between Marchy and Cassidy it’s all for the good.

Damn it thought Hill had that 1 GA locked up but 37/39 is pretty good to say the least. C’mon LT step back up tomorrow.

Damn don’t think anybody expected 5 out of 6 points three games into this tough road trip especially with this injury-depleted roster that may now include Pav (who landed another four shots tonight).

    On pace for 107 pts.

  2. knights fan in minny

period 1 was sloppy after that the boys clamped down marchy the terror hilly was fantastic kolly with a ripper roy with another solid game still say he is the best 4th line center in the nhl

    • Emmanuel

They should keep that line together but then who C the 4th line, Stephenson? Maybe the solution is trading a C for a LW which looks VERY thin…….

      • knights fan in minny

no trade a center you have to stay strong in the middle

        • Jim

Cotter and a draft pick to Mtl for Sean Monahan..

Eichel, Karlsson, Monahan, Carrier, and Theodore added to the current roster, and Amadio and Hutton added as depth.

That would be a strong team. with a lot more dominant offensive zone play, and a lot less of the rope a dope spending too much time in their own end.

  3. David T

March is waking up. Playing good hockey. Glad to see it. Vegas is making their push.

  4. Richard Evans

So is the Points to Elimination going to be a monthly update now?

    Game 49 Analysis VGK 5, NYR 2

    My 3 Stars:
    3rd Star: Mark Stone
    2nd Star: Adin Hill
    1st Star: Mighty Marchy

Adin Hill played great in goal throughout this game, but especially in that 1st period. I saw some better play at 6-on-5, but the power was not very good.

The good news is that the team has 5 points out of a possible 8 on this road trip before the all star break. They have a chance to come home with 7 of 8 after tomorrow nights tilt in Detroit.

The Golden Knights are 5 points behind league leading Vancouver who is tied with Boston at 69 points each. Detroit is 14th in the league with 57 points with a decent +13 GF/GA ratio.

Larkin, DeBrincat and Raymond are the Detroit points leaders for Detroit. The key, like tonight is to survive the 1st period and take the lead.

  6. JB

Turnovers thru two periods, then cleaned it up in the third. Hilly is very good. Marchy hot. Now, LT needs to learn how to play on the road.

  7. Cedric

I got my black shirt on
I got my black gloves on
I got my ski mask on
    This shit’s been too long
I got my twelve gauge sawed-off
I got my headlights turned off
I’m ’bout to bust some shots off
I’m ’bout to dust some cops off
I’m a cop killer, better you than me
    Cop killer, fuck police brutality
    Now my adrenaline’s pumpin’
    I got my stereo bumpin’
I’m ’bout to kill me somethin’
A pig stopped me for nothin’
Cop killer, better you than me
    Cop killer, fuck police brutality
Cop killer, I know your momma’s grieving (fuck her)
Cop killer, but tonight we get even, yeah
    Die, die, die pig, die
    Fuck the police

  8. Earl the Replanted Transplant

Does LT wear the gold pads even on the road? I just read something the other day about how goalies wearing white pads may have an optical edge. Makes sense on how it could fool a shooters eyes.

  9. Pistol Pete

Rangers have been in a bit of a slump but still this injury-ridden roster beating them twice in a week plus we’ll take that. Red Wings up next in a brutal second B2B on this road trip.

    • knights fan in minny

sheterskin is not playing very good at all quick is playing better

    • ThG

what’s brutal about it ? They stayed at same hotel when they played the devils, rangers, islanders

      WAKE UP popgun !

  10. Tim

Hill just seems so calm in net at 27 and Thompson maybe 25 were set in goal. Our defense is set which leaves our offense will they trade for a winger that can score? Detroit is no cupcake lets go into the break on a high note and then have about 9 days to rest and recuperate.

    • knights fan in minny

9 days off will be key for the boys cure those aches and pains will any of the injured come back

  11. JB

Let’s hope LT can play well tonight on the road. Something he has been having trouble with. It would be great to finish off with a win tonight!

  12. ThG

vgk played most of period one like they were on PK, opponent teams will figure out a way to crack this

and the sophomore player is still making bad plays, not good hockey IQ

meanwhile dementia joe, aka genocide joe is picking a fight with TEXAS (and half dozen other GOP governors) just because he doesn’t want to enforce the law. This POS lays one cow pie after another after another. Stolen elections have consequences

  13. Whether Marchy liked the wake up call or not he should he thanking Cassidy for bringing it to the team’s attention. They obviously needed it as it appears they took it to heart. He particularly has benefited as by their play they deserved some one to kick them into gear. It would go along way if he was a man and stood up and acknowledged that. They repeated say when things aren’t going well they were not playing well – ok do something about it. Actions speak louder than words. Another win tonight going into the break would be helpful. Go knights go.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a stern warning to Texas and other states standing in support of razor wire barriers at the Southern border, President Biden said that Texas has until the end of the day to remove it or else frinlerbagsuzzit dorblelerg.

“This has gotten out of hand, folks,” said Biden before a crowd of reporters. “The governor of Texas has defied the gribblegarg of tortlshwaligglbuther. I’m giving Greg Abbot until sundown today to remove thrigldiffin or else frinlerbagsuzzit dorblelerg. Not a joke!

Confused reporters directed further questions to Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre, who is black as well as gay. “What the president means is something he has been clear about from day one, and that is exactly what he means, which is abundantly clear,” she said. “The important thing to remember here is that the border is one-hundred percent secure and Biden is the most competent President of all time. No further questions, thanks.”

“I have no idea what frinlerbagsuzzit dorblelerg is, but it sounds like some high-falutin big city nonsense to me,” responded Abbot. “The razor wire will stay. Bring on the frinlerbagsuzzit dorblelerg! Yee haw!”

At publishing time, the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 to uphold Biden’s decision to impose frinlerbagsuzzit dorblelerg on the state of Texas.
