A quick penalty led to a very early power play goal for Jonathan Marchessault. It didn’t take long for the Islanders to tie it up as the Golden Knights fell apart in their own end. Both teams helped the other with a turnover that led directly to a goal. Vegas’ was scored by William Karlsson, his fifth goal in the last eight games. Following a delay due to lighting issues, the 3rd period got underway and Tomas Nosek scored on a weird play in front of the Islanders goal to give the Golden Knights the lead. New York pushed, but the Golden Knights were able to hold on.
