Recap: The Golden Knights were looking to snap their losing streak with a victory over the Devils in New Jersey. Vegas had several power play opportunities in the opening period, but New Jersey killed them all off to keep the game scoreless through 20 minutes.
A few shifts into the middle frame Vegas’ Nic Roy snapped the scoreless tie with his 7th goal of the season. Eight minutes later Shea Theodore recorded his 7th goal of the 2024-25. After 40 minutes the Golden Knights held a 2-0 advantage.
Golden Knights star center Jack Eichel jumped on a rebound and scored VGK’s third goal of the game early in the final frame. Vegas committed a late penalty allowing the Devils to break the shutout.
The Golden Knights record improves to 32-17-6 defeating the Devils 3-1 in New Jersey. Vegas will wrap up their road trip on Saturday night in Boston. Puck drop against the Bruins is scheduled for 12:30 PM. (Recap by Jason)
Analysis: It was a great time for the Golden Knights to put together one of their better overall performances of the year. They controlled the style of play, possession, and pace from start to finish and walked away with an easy win when they’ve been quite hard to come by. (Recap by Ken)

Bad call leads to a power play goal against and it ruins Adin Hill's shutout. 3-1 VGK

VGK have dominated this game in the neutral zone.

VGK have made the Devils look completely impotent tonight. They've offered almost nothing, and it's because VGK are controlling everything.

Finally a win!
Rondberg played a good game.
late 3rd got dicey
ThG
he should remain on team, has been a good player
vgk21
if they can keep the opponents to 15 shots per game, then maybe they can slowly work their way out of it until the cavalry arrives.
beat Boston, or it is just one and done.

Same game as last night vs NYI, but they got to the net and finally got some puck luck. Good game. They’re not playing badly, just need good breaks.

Game 55 Analysis VGK 3, NJD 1
Beat my State Home of Record, I was born in Jersey City and grew up in Lyndhurst (Meadowlands), close to Giant Stadium out on Route 3! Newark is a shit hole. I have been to that stadium and the entire area is sketchy.
Record 32-17-6, 70pts, +29gf/ga
Pacific, 2nd Place, 2 pts behind the Oilers who have a game in hand
Western 3rd Place behind the Oilers and 9 pts behind the Jets
League 4th Place behind Caps, Jets, and Oilers
Playoff Seed 3rd in the West, 8pts ahead of Kings (6th place), and 6pts ahead of the Avalanche, 1st Wild Card
The Golden Knights have played very good hockey recently, but have failed to be rewarded for the effort. That changed tonight with great defense, goaltending, and coming away with 3 goals for the win.
I think Holtz played extremely well. You can see the potential there. It cannot hurt to give him a legitimate shot to earn his spot. Rondjberg continues to impress as well. General Saad has some hockey moves that I simply haven’t seen. He’s got pretty good speed and has the ability to create chances. Great get for the price.
My boy Cotter hasn’t impressed in Jersey despite a good first month.
Next up the Bad Boys of Boston.
Bruins are 27-23-6, -24gf/ga
Last 10: 5-4-1
Pistol Pete
R-R agree on Holtz. You keep him around as a scratch after Karlsson returns. He seems to be working hard and taking the lack of getting points in stride. Redundant to put him in Henderson imo.
Other guy is Saad. He looks like a solid addition, the missing piece and has the chops to play up. Fast, heavy (215 lb.), strong on the puck, good forechecker, knows how to score.

I was at work so didnt see the game but obviously happy they got the 2 points, things dont get any easier playing a 1230 pm start time on Saturday, they will need to down some energy drinks to be sharp during that unenviable scenario!
ThG
you never see the games ! What is up with that ??
Larry
I can’t help if my shift at work is day shift lol…. Kinda sorta need to keep my eyes where they should be and not glance up at a screen that happens to be sorta near me at that moment!

Very similar to last game except got a few to go in. Although not tested a lot Hill made some quality saves. The non-exsistant penalty called led to Devils PP goal. Could have put this away earlier but 0-4 on our PPs hurt. Whitey laid out out buddy Cotter with big hit. Butch will want Saturdays game badly. I like this Saad guy. All over the ice, works hard. Pavo a little selfish on 2-1 with Kolly. Should have passed puck to him.
Pistol Pete
Eichel on playing defense. Nice to see the most offensively talented player on the team bought in to the max on the defending. Thank you Bruce Cassidy.
“That’s our strength, that’s our bread and butter,” Eichel said of the defensive effort. “I think, as a team, sometimes when you’re not scoring and producing offensively, you got to stick to your structure and rely on what helps you win games. For us, it’s been defense.
“It’s been defense for years now, so I think whenever we play within our structure and competitively in our own end it gives us a chance to win and we waited for the goals to come and they started coming tonight, so we’ll continue to work on it.”
FG
Rondjberg now has played 10 games so it appears he’s on the roster for the rest of the season. Otherwise he’d have to pass through waivers and would likely get claimed.
Pistol Pete
Thanks for the heads-up. If it comes to it, it seems he gets waived rather than Holtz. Splitting hairs (or not), Holtz has the higher value I would say.
ThG
one and done, or more to come ? Next game is no push over

DOGE!
The permanent bureaucracy built their administrative state over decades, brick by bureaucratic brick. They thought it would last forever. They thought it was too big to map, too complex to understand, too entrenched to change.
They were wrong! DOGE, ELON MUSK and ….
Four young coders with laptops proved that. One thousand pre-positioned personnel proved that. A president counting weeks proved that.
The sun continues rising over Washington. Classical columns still cast their shadows. But inside those buildings, everything has changed. The administrative state finally met its match: preparation plus presidential will plus technological precision.
This isn’t the end of the story. This is just the beginning.
The revolution isn’t just continuing. It’s becoming the new normal.
And for those who thought the D E E P S T A T E would rule forever?
They’re about to learn what happens when smart strategic minds meet determination. When preparation meets opportunity. When a new generation decides it’s time for change.
The storm isn’t just gathering. It’s here to stay.
The sun continues rising over Washington. But now, for the first time in generations, it illuminates something new:
A government that works.
A bureaucracy that serves.
A system that delivers.
The revolution isn’t just beginning.
It’s already won.

Revolution?? Mpre like America’s First Oligarch, who.is obviously in control of the government at this ppint
TRUMP.is sure to tire of all the attention.Musk is getting. After Musk made the TIME cover, sitting at the POTUS Resolute Desk, Trump was snarky about it, asking if TIME was still in business! You KNOW Trump needs to be the Front- man. The KING. And Musk is sucking all the air out of Trump’s Glory
.Just a matter of time before Trump’s Jealosy causes him.to turn on Musk. That, and the pushback in courts across America. That, and what is sure to come when our SS and Medicare are slashed, leaving Seniors homeless and hungry. Musk: it’s going to.HURT, bit the results will be good
“. For WHOM?? The RICH who don’t actually NEED those benefits that OTHERS WORKED A LIFETIME FOR???? Let the RICH lose THEIR SS and MEDICARE!!!!

So, yesterday the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that “Nevada prisons have nearly 700 undocumented immigrants in custody, costing taxpayers about $24 million a year.”
For the record, the proper term is “illegal alien,” not “undocumented immigrant,” per U.S. Code. But whatever. Old habits die hard.
In any event, the RJ reported that “The Nevada Department of Corrections and Metropolitan Police Department are withholding the names of undocumented immigrants in their custody, citing privacy concerns.”
This, naturally, has stirred up a hornet’s nest among many on the right who support President Trump’s directive for ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) to deport illegal aliens – especially those with violent criminal records.
