Vegas got off to a hot start pouring the pressure on the Kings early. Erik Haula got the Golden Knights on the board first. Vegas struck again in the 3rd to go up 2-0, but the Kings stormed back to get the game within one. With the goalie pulled the Golden Knights were treading water and just could not reach the finish line. A goal by Anze Kopitar inside the final 11 seconds tied the game and sent it to OT. A tough hooking penalty that looked a bit more like a holding of the stick on Colin Miller gave the Kings a power play that would eventually lead to the game winner.
