Recap: The Golden Knights were looking to snap their winless streak on the road with a win in Edmonton. The Oilers put on the pressure early in the game, but Vegas eventually settled down and opened the scoring. VGK star Jack Eichel gave his club a 1-0 lead late in the frame with his fourth goal of 2024-25. The visiting team led 1-0 going into the 1st intermission.
Edmonton evened the score midway through the period and took a lead a few shifts later. The Golden Knights took 12 second period shots but couldn’t find the back of the Oilers’ net.
With 10 minutes remaining in the contest the Golden Knights picked up a crucial power play opportunity. Defenseman Noah Hanifin ripped a blue line shot to tie the score 2-2. Hanifin went on to score the game winner nine minutes later. The captain Mark Stone sealed the game with a last second empty net score.
The Golden Knights record improves to 9-3-1 defeating the Oilers 4-2 in Edmonton for their first road victory of the season. Vegas will remain on the road to face Seattle on Friday. Puck drop against the Kraken is set for 7 PM. (Recap by Jason)
Analysis: VGK were looking like they were heading for another troubling road game as they got ahead then gave it up and fell behind and the offense was lacking. A penalty a long way from the goal the Oilers were defending gave Vegas a massive chance and they did not miss it. Then, they took complete control of the game and got a couple more even before the Oilers could take a loser point. (Analysis by Ken)

I worked the polls here in Nevada on election day as a poll pad operator. We processed nearly 3000 voters. The day started at 5am, polls opened at 7am and we brought in everyone who was in line at 7pm and it took 45 minutes of election overtime to get them all processed.
I am here to tell you that mass mailing of ballots is pure madness. The State Elections commission is scrambling to contact over 14,000 voters to cure their ballots due to some sort of issue such as signature mismatches.
In one case, a man who had relocated here to Clark County from Washoe County had a valid Nevada Drivers license showed up around 6:30pm to vote. He had no other proof that he was a Clark County resident and it turned out to be too late for him to be able to go some other form of proof. He wound up leaving frustrated and unable to cast a ballot. Yet, a lady with a CA Drivers license and a bank statement with a local address was able to cast her vote. INSANITY.
Florida has millions of voters and has zero problems reporting results on election night. New York has millions more voters and has zero problems reporting results on election night. What’s wrong with Nevada? We need to fire out politicians.
The Democratic Party failed to serve the people these past four years and catered to illegal immigrants instead of taking care of its own citizens. The Biden aides blamed Barack Obama’s advisers for the Harris missteps that ultimately cost her any hopes of the White House.
“There is no singular reason why we lost, but a big reason is because the Obama advisers publicly encouraged Democratic infighting to push Joe Biden out, didn’t even want Kamala Harris as the nominee, and then signed up as the saviors of the campaign only to run outdated Obama-era playbooks for a candidate that wasn’t Obama,” a former Biden staffer told Playbook.
The aide added they’d like a shot of “whatever they’re drinking if 100 extra days of campaigning for Harris instead of Biden would have changed the results of last night!”
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was at the forefront of efforts to depose Biden in July, and she admitted mid-October that she had not spoken to the president since her intervention pressured him to quit in July.
She told the Guardian that some of Biden’s camp had not forgiven her for damaging his legacy through her actions.
The loss of Pennsylvania was particularly vexing for the president, who won the state in 2020.
“The deposing of Biden will remain a great source of controversy within the Democratic party. It’s clear that Biden, even with his cognitive disabilities, would have performed better than Harris in states like Pennsylvania,” political scientist Steven Schier told Newsweek.
Determined not to be a lame duck president for the remainder of his term, Biden is seeking to be a uniting force in the party, say Democratic Party sources. While he is determined to offer a gracious transition to the incoming administration, he is being urged by supporters to make his final months count as the party rebuilds.
