Recap: The Golden Knights were looking to extend their four-game winning streak with a victory in Edmonton. The Oilers took a 1-0 lead into the break with a late opening period goal.
In just over a minute into the middle frame Edmonton doubled their lead to 2-0. The Oilers would further extend their lead with three more 2nd period goals and held a 5-0 advantage. Victor Olofsson and Ivan Barbashev scored :26 seconds apart to cut the Oilers lead to 5-2.
Quickly into the final 20 minutes Brett Howden recorded his 11th goal of the season, slashing Edmonton’s lead to two scores. However, :38 seconds later the Oilers tacked on their sixth and final goal of the game.
The Golden Knights record drops to 19-8-3 falling to the Oilers 6-3 in Edmonton. Vegas will get right back on the ice tomorrow afternoon in Minnesota. Puck drop against the Wild is scheduled for 3 PM. (Recap by Jason)
Analysis: Not too long ago these two teams matched up in a low-scoring affair in Vegas. The hallmark of the game for the Golden Knights was their ability to limit the Oilers in front of the goal. All of the success from that game disappeared in this one as Edmonton constantly won to rebounds and had players unchecked in front of the net all night. Not often VGK allow 6. Edmonton has won 5 straight and is in 3rd place in the Pacific, 3 points behind the Golden Knights. This game was much different than the previous two tilts against the Oilers. The Golden Knights gave up some unfortunate goals, but also rang pipe 3 times on the opposite end and had numerous high danger chances.
Pavel Dorofeyev doesn’t look bad out there, but he has been held off the points sheet now for 6 straight games. He’s on my fantasy team, and I find it difficult to sit him considering he’s on the 2nd PP unit. He’d better get it turned back on soon.
Next up is the NHL league leading Wild. Samsonov will need to be on the top of his game.

The Midshipmen are now 63-55-7 all time against the Black Knights with their 31-13 victory Saturday in Landover, Md.
Navy got out to a 14-0 lead, scoring a touchdown on its first drive, then turning an interception into seven more points. Army cut its deficit in half before going into the locker room. A field goal to begin the second half made it a four-point game.
