Just watched the 1st period from last night. The 2nd goal that beats Subban glove side he probably needs to stop. First one was because of an awful offensive zone penalty by Nosek. Great job by McNabb leaving the shooter wide open. How the hell do you give up a 2-0 on a pp? Zero chance on the third. No goalie stops that one. Great job again by the defense letting someone set up shop. Never saw the 4th due to a screen 10 ft in front of him. Another bad penalty and just an awful bounce on the 5th. The inability to clear the zone when they have possession has been a problem all year.
As we saw last year, Subban plays better when he get consistent playing time. I’m not saying he should be the guy, but should play every 3rd or 4th game. Close to 30 starts on the season so Fleury isn’t playing 55+. If you have any hopes of playing in late April, you can’t murder your goaltender during the regular season. Not that will matter at this pace.
