VGK In The Midst Of Worst Stretch Ever; History Shows It’ll Get Better Soon Though

The Golden Knights are in the middle of the worst stretch of hockey in their eight-year franchise history. Over the last 14 games, they have won just three games, grinding to a 3-8-3 record.

The team has won just three in 13 games multiple times, but the loss on Long Island pushed it to three in 14 for the first time ever.

*Don’t worry, there’s good news coming soon in this article*

Worst 13 Game Stretch
1/21/19-2/22/19: 3-9-1 (.269)
12/15/23-1/13/24: 4-9-0 (.308)

1/19/19-2/22-19: 4-9-1 (.321)
2/12/24-3/14/24: 4-9-1 (.321)
2/26/22-3/22/22: 5-9-0 (.357)
10/27/19-11/25/19: 4-6-4 (.429)

Worst 15 Game Stretch
Current w/ Loss at NJD: 3-9-3 (.300)

10/25/19-11/25/19: 4-7-4 (.400)
12/27/22-1/28/23: 5-7-3 (.433)

So, if the Golden Knights fail to earn a point tonight, they’ll tie the worst 15-game stretch in franchise history before heading off to Boston. If they get at least one point tonight though, they’ll stave off more negative history. (Hopefully we don’t have to worry about 16-game stretches.)

Ok, now for the good news. When these streaks end, the Golden Knights always come flying out of them.

After the worst 14-game stretch ever, back in early 2019, the Golden Knights went on to win six in a row and 10 of the next 11 turning 4-9-1 into 14-10-1. Early the same year they flipped a 4-6-4 stretch into 8-6-4 with four consecutive wins. Both in early 2022 and early 2023 VGK won five straight games after their worst stretches, and last season Vegas posted a 4-9-1 run that turned into 10-10-1 as they won six of the next seven.

Literally, at the end of every single streak listed above, they went on to win at least three straight and four of the next five.

It’s anyone’s guess when this brutal swoon the Golden Knights are going through will end, but when it does, expect the wins to start stacking right back up.

They are not scoring goals anymore, If Cassidy doesn’t stop this skid, Foley is going to Fire his ass, no excuses, this is unforgiveable, to lose to all the most horrible teams in the league, it’s embarrassing to see.

Another thing I’m noticing about these skids; the majority of them happen around the same time; late December-February, which is usually the lead up to what normally would be the all-star break. These 2 weeks off for all but 5 of the guys (I wish they would all pull out) will be huge to get the injuries addressed, and the minds refreshed, and usually after that happens, Vegas then takes off! HOPEFULLY the same repeats itself, because I can’t bear watching this team, that had such an incredible start, piss everything away and this suddenly turn into a lost season.

Honestly there isn’t anything to worry about. The NHL Pacific Division is the WORST division in all professional sports.

There is ZERO chance of VGK missing out because that division is collective dumpster fire.

Even with the terrible defending by Easter Statue look alike Whitecloud and Hannifin, VGK is safe from missing out the playoffs.

We just need Stone to fake another injury and its Christmas shopping at the deadline

A collapse is possible. The best safeguard is the OTL point, it makes other teams gaining ground a whole lot harder.

Despite being a fan, objectively I have no solid evidence Stone faked anything.

Whatever happened with that racist hockey prospect that all the teams passed on except Vegas in the draft last year?

    Was he a bust?

NAM made the interesting point last game that after 54 games the record is identical to last year 31-17-6. Last year we finished 14-12-2 (two OTL
pts above .500) winning the last WC spot with 98 pts. Hopefully we do better than 14-12-2 this time around.-
