VGK Fans Made Sure Fleury’s Final Visit Wasn’t An Empty Farewell

Yesterday, we decided to dedicate the entire game to honor former Golden Knight and future Hall of Fame goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury’s last visit to Las Vegas. The retiring netminder is arguably one of the most important figures in Golden Knights franchise history and unfortunately adoring fans in Southern Nevada were robbed of one last chance at seeing the Flower in net. With him on the bench the 31st franchise’s faithful made sure Fleury could see and hear their appreciation last night at T-Mobile Arena.

Even though the franchise’s first future Hall of Fame player was inactive we decided to go along as planned and celebrate Fleury’s stellar four-year career with the Golden Knights. Starting with his name being announced at the 2017 Expansion Draft, to some of his most memorable saves in golden pads.

We asked for your help celebrating #29, and like always, you delivered.

Flurey was the face of the team the first 2-3 years. I soured on him after the sword in back thing, but still a big part of Knights lore.

Same here, JB. I can’t get past that. I just can’t. They won the cup without him.

Oh how sad, boo hoo, Fluery’s agent hurt my feelings with the sword picture. I am easily offended by childish antics.
