If he plans on coming back and playing, it's going to have to be for VGK, at least at the start. Can't see another team stepping up before they know he's capable of being the Robin Lehner of old.
VGK's best bet is him returning to his old form though. If he can, that's huge.
@SinBinVegas Is there any team in the NHL that will take Lehner off our hands after this season?
I'd be fairly open for business trying to acquire 1st round picks and/or prospects that will be ready to play in the NHL next year. Literally, no one is off limits.
As for the rebuild, start by finding the right winger for Eichel, then go big/defensive everywhere else.
@SinBinVegas You mention building around Eichel. Who would you sell, who would you buy?
If there's a player available, VGK will be looking at him. I'd imagine they'll look for at least one bonafide scorer (Tarasenko, Kane, Meier...) and a grinder (Barbashev, Acciari...). Wouldn't shock me if they are in on the stay-at-home defenseman too (Gavrikov, Edmundson...)
@SinBinVegas Who, if anyone, are VGK looking to acquire? Or does it depend on Stone's back?
It's time for morning Q&A! Ask me anything.
To answer your first question, I believe VGK will use some, if not all, of the available LTIR money to try and help the team make the playoffs. Personally, I disagree with this strategy. I'd hold or even sell.
Ok, ask anything else...
The Golden Knights have the toughest schedule of the 10 teams vying for Western Conference playoff spots.
However, when you break it down, VGK's path to a postseason berth is really not that treacherous if they handle the poor opponents.
