Put your pencils away, take out the Sharpie, and circle Tuesday, November 22nd. Team sources confirmed this is the final working date and late last night man in charge concurred.
Locked and loaded. Everything should be ready. -The Creator
That’s the day they’ll finally reveal the identity of the Something in Something Knights. Not only will we learn the missing adjective, but we’ll also get to see the logos, the colors, and even the home and away jerseys.
The team name unveil event will take place on Toshiba Plaza just outside of T-Mobile Arena “at night” on the 22nd.
Merchandise such as shirts and hats with the new team name and logo will be available for sale, but you’ll have to get in line behind me. Jerseys however are not expected to be available for sale.
The Creator will be joined by GM George McPhee, and NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman is expected to be on hand as well.
The end is near people! Vegas’ first major professional sports franchise is finally getting it’s identity. Here’s to hoping we don’t hate what they went with.

We’ve gotten wind of a few other secrets about the big party and it’s participants, but at this point the only thing in stone is the date.

Garry
Glad to hear this news is set in stone now. As far as the name goes my guess is Desert Knights or Silver Knights for a few reasons, both represent Vegas and the environment, something Foley said he wished to do. Both were most popular choices among fans by far. I would be utterly shocked and dismayed to hear it was Golden, means nothing to me or Vegas, ranked last in popularity and very unoriginal.
Let’s have a great night, buy some merch and hope Foley truly cares what we think.
James
I’m surprised to read that the home and away jerseys will be unveiled. I’m aware that Adidas bought Reebok, but I thought we would have to wait until June to see the home and away jerseys. After all, Reebok is currently the official NHL outfitter.
I’m not sold on Desert Knights, but I’m reserving judgement until November 22nd.
Garry
I could live with Silver Knights of course just think Desert Knights leaves more jersey options/originality. As long as we are not golden lol
Ken Boehlke
The plan is to unveil the jerseys on that night, but they won’t be available for sale until June, 2017. There are massive concerns over counterfeiters.
James
@Ken Boehlke
Are there any plans on adding an alternate jersey? It appears they are going with a home jersey in an accent colour and the mandatory white away jersey.
Ken Boehlke
There are plans for a third, but it’s not going to be released on the 22nd.
Tom
There’s no such thing as a Desert Knight!!!! Oh my God it’s making me nuts to think our team is gonna be an oxymoron lol.
James
@Tom
Just out of curiosity, do you prefer Desert Warriors? A warrior is a brave or experienced soldier or fighter. A warrior embodies the same core values Foley is looking for in a moniker. Foley views hockey players as warriors. You have to be brave to sacrifice your body for the good of the team.
DaveVegasNews
Maybe tell that to the Military as well seeing as they believe in them too.

I won’t post links to all the badges/logos/stories but they exist in theory, you are a warrior and as a warrior/knight you can be called that based on where you are fighting.
And keep in mind the Desert reps NV/LV the Knights are his thing, it works people understand it, most people LIKE it. You can literally be a Knight ANYWHERE.
James
Twenty brave Knights will be plying their trade in the desert on opening night. As an outsider, I associate the desert with Las Vegas. It would be a top 5 answer on the board. It’s a feature Las Vegas should be proud of. Golden would be a stretch because most people associate silver with Las Vegas. The desert screams sunbelt team, but that’s what they are.
James
@Tom
I can see where you’re coming from. DaveVegasNews had the best response. Playing ‘devil’s advocate’ is there such a thing as a New York Ranger? Apparently the owner hailed from the state of Texas. Hence the moniker. I was going to use the Los Angeles Lakers, Utah Jazz and Memphis Grizzlies as examples, but those teams relocated.
Garry
A few other secrets Ken… Like what King Arthur may attend?
Spill it.
Ken Boehlke
Think more Vegas specific. But that stuff is far from being finalized.
Garry
Dion, Spears, Newton….exciting stuff! Ironically the “rat pack” will attend as well 🙂
Funny no jersey until June, I mean pictures are enough for a fake to be made, odd statement for a reason why not to.
Todd Little
can’t wait to see the logo and sweaters. happy for you guys. Can’t wait for the first time the Panthers tussle with the ? Knights.
Tom
I hope nobody invited Carrot Top. That guys annoys me.
James
@Ken Boehlke
What happened to the Maloof brothers? Haven’t heard anything from them in a while. The Maloof brothers were some of the worst owners in NBA history. I get why Mr. Foley is front and center. You dont have the Maloof brothers listed on the Team Staff page. They are a big part of the franchise!
Ken Boehlke
There’s a reason they have been somewhat of silent partners. Honestly, I don’t really know what that reason is, but any time we’ve really pressed about their involvement it’s kind of been shut down. In a way it seems like they were there to get the foot in the door more than anything.
Jim
Fans that live in other states when can we buy merchandise on the website Christmas is coming it would be great gifts
Ken Boehlke
We are assuming they’ll have a way for people to buy things online, but if they don’t and it’s only in person, SinBin.vegas will be buying a ton of stuff and we’ll ship it to whoever wants it.
BRIAN
Huge NHL fan and actually flying in from Chicago to see what this about, please keep us posted of details. Spending my birthday in Vegas and getting to support the new home of the NHL is some thing I am looking forward to
Ken Boehlke
We are still working to find out anything else we can, it’ll be on the site or on our twitter when we’ve got anything.
