For months now we’ve had to refer to the Las Vegas NHL franchise in the abstract, one we knew was coming but couldn’t officially say. Now, we can say we’ve got our team, but what to call them, well, that’ll just have a to wait a bit longer.
During the announcement press conference The Creator dropped a few tidbits on the plans for the name, colors, logos, and jerseys.
I certainly want to thank our fans for our team that doesn’t have a name yet. But we will. We’re planning a big celebration, but we’re going to wait until it cools off. -The Creator
He then went on to hypothesize it’ll cool off some time in September.
Here at SinBin.vegas we have been in contact with the City of Las Vegas and Mayor Carolyn Goodman to arrange Bill Foley Day. It will be held on the same day as the “big celebration.”
New media guy for the organization, Dan Marrazza, gave me the chills with the last line of his first article on the new team website.
Although this will have to wait, the city of Las Vegas’s wait for major league professional sports, and for the NHL, doesn’t. And after years of knowing that #VegasWantsHockey, it can be said that… #VegasIsHockey. -Dan Marrazza, Director of Digital & Social Media
