Tuch out for 6 months or mores not good news. They may have picked up Dadonov knowing what we didn’t know that Tuch was out long term. Personally I want Payton Krebs to succeed trading him would disappoint me more then I am right now.

  2. Daryl

Overall I don’t think this year’s team is any better or worse than last year. They may have improved the bottom 6 slightly, but they did nothing for the top 6 or the PP. And when you add in the goalie tandum being worse, I think overall it’s a wash. And depending on how the goalie situation works out the team could be worse.

  3. Richard Santomauro

VGK obviously was in dire need of a top tier center. That guy is (was) Nick Suzuki who was shipped off. The result? Nick Roy and Keegan Kolesar, for some reason was pushed into a role that they were both ill prepared for.

No first year NHL regular should ever be placed under such pressure. The Nick Suzuki’s and Jack Hughes of professional are few and far between.

With that commentary, don’t you think that the FO has to bear responsibility for mortgaging the future of this team?

    • THE hockey GOD

we got 67, you are forgetting that , as usual

      can’t have it both ways.

  4. Richard Santomauro

LMFAO – Lehner will be done by January.

  5. Ulf

Lehner will do fine and is the least of VGKs worries.
The forward lineup is older (especially in the case of Patches) and haven’t been getting it done in the playoffs.
There is absolutely no player of significance in VGK’s farm system (aside from maybe – maybe – Krebs, and in net) that will help this team in the near future.
By then all the players VGK will have will be older still and the window will be closed.
The buying a cup model is already starting to show its cracks – best move some guys at the deadline and try to get better prospects and higher picks so a fast turnaround is possible, otherwise it’s going to be a slow rebuild in 2 years.
Oh, and change up the scouting department!

  6. DOC (Go Knights Go)

Of course Panda is going to do very well! The haters will never give him credit for how good he really is!

Look forward to watching Revo & Nosek with their new teams. Also the Kraks will be fun to watch!

Losing Tuch will be tuff. Looks like LTIR is the thing to do now!

  7. DOC (Go Knights Go)

My timeline has been put on here many times.

But, hey tuff guys make me leave!

Oh that’s right, this is the internet. You can’t do anything but talk tuff. ha ha

    • Daryl

The internet tough guy is back with more internet tuff talk… It’s impressive for an old man with one foot already in the grave. He reminds me of fat chicks who talk a lot of shit and get in guys’ faces until they get smacked around by a guy then want to cry about it lol!!!

      • THE hockey GOD

his doctor gave him six months to live, and when he couldn’t pay the bill he gave him another six months (care of I get no respect guy )

Suzuki is a restricted free agent in ’22 I believe. Given all the moves that have proven to be unsuccessful in trying to recreate a team that can get back to the finals, maybe the FO should try and undo one of the many mistakes they made by putting their efforts into getting him back….not that they’ll have much cap room to do it.

I’m still a believer in team chemistry, and the success of the Misfit line tends to prove some of that out in my opinion. I’d hate to see Reilly Smith be gone at the end of next season as he’s an UFA, but given the constant off season movement I’m not going to hold my breath that he’s retained.

Some interesting comments by Stu Grimson on the Ryan Reaves trade to the Rangers. I think he pretty much nailed it, and the Rangers needed to add a tougher edge to their team to prevent another Wilson Panarin episode. Acquiring Goodrow and Reaves does that. Enough people here wanted to see Reaves gone, so let’s see how this helps the VGK team.

Not even touching the way the team got so much better minus MAF.

    • Daryl

The tram got so much better by losing MAF??? I would love to see exactly how that is. VGK could have gotten a lot better with the MAF trade but they didn’t. I have yet to read an article from any “expert” that illustrates how VGK got better. Basically, VGK took a step back in goaltending and did nothing to improve the top 6. They slightly improved the bottom 6 but they weren’t the reason for the losses.

As for Reaves, he won’t play enough in NY to make a difference. Rangers will be too big and too strong, meaning they will be too slow to hang with the Caps. I get going after an Enforcer and I can’t wait for one of them to knock Wilson’s teeth down his throat, but the Caps will still win the game. I still remember Wilson running from Engo twice and Reaves 3 times (once as a Pen and twice in VGK) the year VGK got Reaves.

      • Daryl

I will say this, I look forward to watching every Rangers-Caps games!!!

        • jason mason

I think you misunderstand my post if you think I meant the team got better without Fleury…quite the contrary in my opinion. They basically tossed a guy that had a career year, and then didn’t really do anything with the money they think they saved. Not all that smart with no ROI.

As for Reaves, I agree with Grimson and Anson Carter. They both like what Reaves brings to the position on the team he’s been given. He only gets about 10 minutes a game, but it’s 10 minutes that can keep the other teams honest when it comes to pushing his team around. No one expects Reaves to be Wayne Gretzky, but if you were Wayne Gretzky you’d want him on your team. Gerard wanted him, and I’ll bet it’s to specifically deal with Tom Wilson.

I’ll take a wait and see attitude about how next season will go for the VGK, but I’m not optimistic. The FO should have done as little as possible to mess with the 1st year team chemistry, and the proof has been in the results for the last 3 years. Vegas has a really good hockey team, but trying to throw money at the cup isn’t going to happen if guys can’t play together long enough to be consistent in what they do on the ice. I’d hate to see how we’d do if we were in the 2 eastern divisions.

          • Daryl

If you ask Gretzky, he is very in favor of hockey fights and having players like Reaves around him. I wish the Lens had an enforcer of any type.

          • THE hockey GOD

@JM Daryl and his other brother Daryl spend a lot of time gas lighting their own posts.

Ignore him, he’s a shit stirrer with no shit in his pot to stir. He drives around the block in his 72 pinto thinking it’s a Mercedes, and complains about it all the time.

          • Daryl

            @thg,
Meanwhile both your vehicles are in the shop… Taking about gas, maybe you should stop huffing, it’s not good for an old manime yourself. Most of your brain cells are already dead, you should try to keep what’s left

  9. THE hockey GOD

“if you ask Gretzki….blah blah blah” that was in 1980s, Daryl still lives in a galaxy long, lont time ago and far , far , far away.

Bettman has changed the NHL since the 80s, WAKE UP. It is no longer the same league. They mind as well call it the WHL, wussies hockey league. Made up of girly boys , face washing, knee benders, and woke *ussies.

    • Daryl

No shit genius, everyone knows hockey has changed and Bettman is ruining the sport. Way to be on top of things

THERE IT IS and you all said I was nutz. The dam is about to burst !

Evander Kane LW, San Jose Sharks
Evander Kane responded to allegations made against him that he bet on his own hockey games and has intentionally tried to lose for gambling profit.

“Unfortunately I would like to address the completely FALSE accusations that my estranged wife and soon to be ex wife has made against me,” Kane posted on his Twitter account. “Even against the advice of my legal team I feel strongly that the public and fans hear this directly from me. I have NEVER gambled/bet on Hockey, NEVER gambled/bet on a Sharks game, NEVER gambled/bet on any of my games and NEVER thrown a hockey game. The facts are I personally had my best season of my career last year and was the most consistent I’ve been throughout any season, I’m proud of that. I love the game of Hockey and never any of what was alleged. I look forward to cooperating fully with the league’s investigation, having my named cleared and looking forward to this upcoming season.”

Evander Kane LW, San Jose Sharks
The NHL will investigate an allegation made by Evander Kane’s wife that the Sharks forward bet on his own games.

“The League was made aware this evening of a post on social media alleging that San Jose Sharks player Evander Kane bet on NHL games,” said the NHL in a statement. “The integrity of our game is paramount and the League takes these allegations very seriously. We intend to conduct a full investigation and will have no further comment at this time.” Evander’s wife, Anna Kane, posted on Instagram: “How does the NHL let a compulsive gambling addict still play when he’s obviously throwing games to win money? Hmm maybe someone needs to address this. Can someone ask (Commissioner) Gary Bettman how they let a player gamble on his own games? Bet and win with bookies on his own games?” She also accused her husband of spending lavishly and partying in Europe, while asking her to sell her wedding ring. She also mentioned not being able to afford baby formula for their child. Kane’s gambling history has come up before. A Las Vegas casino sued Kane in 2019, while alleging he failed to repay a $500,000 gambling debt. In January, Kane filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. The Sharks also released a statement to say they have been in contact with the NHL and “support a full and transparent investigation.”

  11. THE hockey GOD

A very upbeat article. lots of positive comments. I like it.

“Yes, I think the team is better.”

    I agree with that statement.

I also think there are a few option in the AHL that will work it way out. There are several forwards that will get a chance to play with the team. As well there are a couple of D men also. If the team give them a chance to play, and I expect them to do so then we ill know by mid year if they work not. IF not, then we have the Cody Glass experiment repeated and the team will get ready to make some deals before the trade deadline.

I believe they have two good goalies, and a third in AHL. And they helped their salary situation by dumping dead weight and filling out their bottom six.

I can’t wait to see how this all plays out. It should be an exciting start to the season!

  12. Arnold Rothstein

BTW all I grabbed some juicy odds on the SEattle Kraken , before they finished their roster by acquire better upgrades at goalie and forward positions !
