SinBin.vegas Podcast #57: Officially Official

This super long episode goes to show that Ken and Jason have no lives and all they want to do is talk VGK all day. It’s so long it’s possible there is no podcast next week, but we’ll have to see on that. Hosted by Ken Boehlke and Jason Pothier.

  • The open, hate it?
  • The best stereotype to have.
  • Does becoming official mean the team could have been taken away?
  • Ken thinks Jason is a terrible fan of teams.
  • Can Vegas ever become a “hockey city?”
  • How and when do you judge George McPhee’s performance?

And much more…

The reason they couldn’t make move prior to the full payment is legal and legal only. without a doubt. Union contracts of the NHLPA contracts wouldn’t allow it.

    • I’m not saying you are wrong, cause that does make sense. But technically, the only players they are able to sign now that they are “official” are players who are not yet represented by the NHLPA.

I’m with you but I deal with some union contracts and even if they are not signed now to be signed don’t they have to join the union? I’m not too privy of the NHL and NHLPA but aren’t all signed players a member of the union. So if the Knights were to sign a player they’d have to comply with union requirements I believe which means the Knights would officially have to be affiliated.

        • I see what you are saying. I literally realized it the moment after I sent this message that, once they sign, they will have to register with the NHLPA, and if Vegas’ money isn’t in, then they won’t be an acceptable destination for the NHLPA. You are definitely on to something here.
