Praise Be To Foley, Vegas Golden Knights Hockey Website

The Golden Knights hosted the Seattle Kraken for the first of a back-to-back set at T-Mobile Arena. The Kraken opened the scoring 2:38 into the game and took a 2-0 advantage six minutes later. Vegas worked their way back and evened the score at 2-2 before the 1st intermission.

Like the 1st period, Seattle came out strong and scored in the opening five minutes of the middle frame. The Kraken would later double their lead late in the 2nd period and held a 4-2 lead after 40 minutes of action.

The offense dried up for both teams in the 3rd period. Vegas went scoreless over the final 40 minutes, mustering only six shots on net in the frame.

The Golden Knights record drops to (16-5-1) falling to the Kraken 4-2. It was Vegas’ first loss to Seattle in franchise history. The Golden Knights get right back to work tomorrow night against the Vancouver Canucks. Puck drop is scheduled for 7P PT. (Recap by Jason)

  1. Pistol Pete

That’s 9-1-1 last 11 games for SEA going from 3-4-2 to 12-5-3. Kraken are an improved team playing hard.

Thought the VGK applied excellent pressure over the first 4+ minutes of period 2 right up to the Burakovsky goal at 5:22.

Overall the VGK got not extremely outplayed tonight by a hungry team on a roll trying to prove they are not trapped in expansion team oblivion.

Paradoxically the VGK was .1000 on special teams and what a period 2 save by Grubauer on Theodore to keep the 3-2 lead. VGK also dominated the faceoffs.

Howden is out with a lower body injury and am not sure Roy is 100%.

  2. Ts

ARGH! Home games are turning into home Letdowns. Hill was sub-par, in my view. The team was slow to get cracking…too much turkey? Hard to play catchup when the legs are heavy.
Kracken were sharp and hungry. We were NOT. Tonight will be either a call to action or another Letdown….

    • Pistol Pete

TS, watching the game I did not see lack of effort or hunger. No team can stay on a win 80% pace. Not making excuses, just saying games have to be lost too. Kraken played well and with plenty of effort. Although this one ended up as one of the inevitable losses I was not extremely disappointed by the effort. More than a normal number of mistakes but it will happen. With all that it could have gone either way—Theodore nearly tied it 3-3 twice although SEA did hit a post in the 3rd. When multiple losses become a pattern it’s more cause for concern. Of course we could lose again tonight. Last game the Canucks played they beat COL on the road. They have plenty of offense but have trouble defending. Something tells me a Boudreau may find a way to improve that even their D is not particularly deep.

      • TS

Pp, I admire your eternal optimism. I’m disappointed in the home game losses. Not sure why the letdown at home, but I will certainly keep on cheering( and cursing) !!

    • Knights fan in minnie

I missed the game – the double wide power strip went out again

      • knights fan in minny

or were you to drunk from malt liquor you fake ass poster piece of shit

  3. THE hockey GOD

F’s all around, ending November on sour note is not a good sign for rest of season, must bounce back tonight on home ice against the lumberjacks.

four players with well less than 10 minutes total ice time not good, lack of finisher again.

no relief from AHL team mired in basement with absolutely no skilled players.

  4. THE hockey GOD

    where’s Kenny ?

    when the cat is away
    the mice will play,

  5. Blitz

Move over Vegas, expansion team part deux is coming to take the weak division away from you.

Hill is showing he doesn’t deserve a split share. It is time to step up LTs games to a regular full time load.

Where is that shut down defense we saw pre road trip?

Seattle is starting to look as good as they looked on paper before the season. Built around middle cap players with room to spare.

  6. Emmanuel

The lack of shots was concerning in the last half of the game was concerning, im still pushing for Manninen to be called up.

    • Emmanuel

      You can tell im concerned!

    • Pistol Pete

Agree Maninnen is a possibility on wing. If Howden is just day to day does that put him off the roster enabling a call-up even with healthy scratches available? Not sure how that works. Thanks.

  7. knights fan in minny

pure ugly the krak came to play grubauer was good to me the squad looked like they did not want to be there they better win tonight or i could see a ugly no puck practice on sunday the bench boss was not happy in the first period

    • Pistol Pete

As I posted, did not think they were horrible bad. Omit some mistakes and they win even with Hill. Cassidy knows his squad will not play well enough to win every game. Is a circular discussion until such time they really slump. Howden is out and Roy maybe still should be, complicating matters.

  8. Looking for Jailbird – next two very winnable – l told you that wasn’t the case but you had some dumbass response versus just accepting you might be wrong. Notice you are missing regarding.thoughts on this game. Don’t be shocked if they VGK don’t win tonight. I will be disappointed but not surprised. Despite what PP the better team won last night as vegas was slow – pretty interesting how Seattle went from bottom last year to with in reach of first place.

    • TS

      I’m still at the bottom

      • REAL TS

Fake TS, aren’t you talking about YOURSELF?? YOU A-R-E the bottom feeder! That you have NO life of your own, so you pump yourself up trolling strangers, tells me ALL ABOUT YOU AND YOUR SORRY LIFE.

    • Pistol Pete

Biker we find common ground again. No way is beating the Canucks tomorrow a lock. I also agree the Kraken was faster than the VGK but I’ll stick to my position that the VGK showed effort, the results just were not there—some games are to be lost. I know when a real slump hits it does no good to point out that no team no matter how good will not win every game but that is true and each coach has a way to address it. I do think if the Kraken have “arrived” in only their second year (still a long way to the playoffs) their FO gets kudos for the more conservative from the ground up approach vs. what the VGK did in buying expensive veteran talent, however the VGK did make the playoffs their first four seasons running deep in all but one. It could be an ongoing debate but first we have see the Kraken make their first postseason.

  9. Without multi million.tallent l might add.

    • THE hockey GOD

“without multi million talent I spit out without knowing what I am saying”

A native of Herning, Denmark, Bjorkstrand is one year into a five-year, $27 million deal that carries a cap hit of $5.4 million. He is set to become an unrestricted free agent after the 2025-26 campaign.

and five other players making 5 million cap space a year with five and / or six contract, all but one 27 and over.

  10. Canada

I think this was the first time Cassidy from what we saw tapped a couple Prima Donna’s and said not good enough. Hill made some great saves but not good enough to keep us in it not his fault but still Jury is still out on Hill . I am glad Cassidy is jumping on these guys early in the season. Stones post game comments were very uninspiring and concerning. As a captain dont make excuses for your friends show some leadership. Eichle at least called it as it was they weren’t ready. Cassidy knows what’s comming in playoffs and the players who aren’t prepared to go all in need to be aware he will come for you . I hope he and the GM remain committed to do what needs to be done to get us a winning team time will tell . Stay strong Cassidy.

WOKE HOCKEY as the NHL Goes Far Left

“The National Hockey League (NHL) was founded in 1917 in Montreal, Canada. It’s a league full of big men who shoot around a piece of rubber and slam each other into the boards.

Hockey’s always been a masculine sport, although it’s become popular with women in the past century.”

For that reason, women’s leagues exist in various countries including Canada and the US.

However the pro leagues have now decided that this isn’t enough: instead, they’re going to wade into the whole transgender issue and get political.

Yes, the NHL is going woke. ”

    “NHL Loses Its Mind
The NHL recently had an argument with conservative commentator Ben Shapiro. It came after they tweeted out a link about how they were having an all “Team Trans” tryout in Wisconsin.

The tryouts were only for trans and “nonbinary” players and drew around 100 people.

While virtue signaling in this way, the NHL showed that going full woke is the direction it now wants to take.

In simple terms this means men in women’s hockey and sports leagues becoming more and more involved in controversial questions around gender identity.

Of course they can say this is about “inclusion” or something like that, but what about the comfort levels and rights of women who don’t want biological men smashing them to bits on the ice?

    They apparently don’t matter…”

    • THE hockey GOD

      “Shapiro Asks a Legitimate Question…
For his part, Shapiro asked a legitimate question of the league, before they shut down the tweet thread and made it so only their approved followers could respond.

As Shapiro said, the “woke coterie” is full of non-scientific and “idiotic” ideas like the idea that calling yourself a man or a woman is what makes you a man or woman.

Obviously we all know it’s not true, but various corporations, governments and irresponsible psychologists buy into it in order to advance their careers and centralize power.

Shapiro was just pointing out that it’s “amazing” that male-led leagues like the NHL are now falling into this stupidity.

As he said, if biological women can actually be men by saying they are and taking hormones or having surgery, then why aren’t there more of them in the NHL? In fact, why aren’t there any of them?

      The Bottom Line
Even a decade ago if you’d said issues like this would be coming up, everyone would have said you were off your rocker.

There’s no reason for us even to be wading into issues like this, and the NHL has lost its mind to be starting to get so deep into stuff like this.

      It’s really just so unnecessary.

The trans debate doesn’t belong in pro sports. Let’s focus on fun and athleticism, not woke virtue signaling.”

The real bottom line, real men are born with real penises !

      End of story. Case CLoSeD

  12. Craig

Turnovers, 100′ passes and bringing the puck up the wall. WTF

    • TS

Craig, sorta looked like old times under PDB’S System– it didn’t work then, doesn’t work now.

  13. Tim

Well they took us to the wood shed from the first puck drop to the final bell they were in charge. They were faster more energetic and wanted to make a statement and they did. Kudo’s to them they deserved it that’s a loss I can live with. As I’ve said before we have no home ice advantage we just don’t take advantage of 18 thousand plus fans cheering us on.

    • Pistol Pete

As a second year expansion team that has never beaten the greatest one in the history of all sports they had something to prove. Kudos to the Kraken for winning game. They deserved it.

  14. Richard Santomauro

The VGK have played way better than I thought they would have through 22 games. They are still building chemistry. The single one glaring issue that I see is a lack of toughness when battling for pucks in a scrum. They are more often than not losing those battles. The only way to fix this is adding 1 or 2 players who are as tough as nails like William Carrier. Note, nobody fucks with the Aircraft Carrier. He’s earned more ice time.

Shootout possible tonight. Vancouver’s offense is good, but that opens them up for counterpunches.

    Prediction VGK 6, VAN 3

    • Pistol Pete

As for the tall, heavy, speedy Carrier if I was Cassidy I’d try to figure out a way to get his hands working at the NHL level. They worked at the lower levels. There’s gotta be a way. Same for Howden though unfortunately he seems injury prone.

That Pavel Dorofeyev has hands. Now if he can just toughen up with those 30 lbs he added.

  15. THE hockey GOD

bettman is a hose bag and is known to wear panty hose, that is why every where he goes he is booed heavily by real NHL fans.

just say no to woke perversion.

  16. Arnold Rothstein

time for no. 23 to score a goal tonight, first of season

    Team Arnold

  17. THE hockey GOD

the other night the leafs beat the devils to end the devils’ long winning streak, but the game was marred by

Devils fans REVOLT after THREE goals called off

Leafs had to leave the bench, mayhem ensued on the ice (not TV commercial) and fans kept throwing debris onto the ice.

Add above to another BAD ICE condition that I left off when I provided a list of bad ice conditions with a rating score.

    • Alex

No such thing as bad ice in any NHL arena… These really are the dumbest fans in sports

      • knights fan in minny

you’re the dumbest piece of shit malt liquor drinking loser of north las vegas the hood your brother george was a thug

  18. Danny

    absolutely pathetic….disgraceful Vgk PK

they will be lucky to make the playoffs despite the hot start, if they keep playing like shit at home like the last 2 nights.

Seattle and Vancouver came in and outplayed them by a mile.

let the trades begin, for some gritty players who will forecheck and play hard…. fancy passing, coasting, floating softies need not apply.

    • Pistol Pete

What did you think of the Coyotes blanking the Canes 4-0 on Wednesday? At Carolina. Anyways, let the whining continue.

Stone missed a wide open net on the first PP to tie it 1-1. That hurt. Hopefully a better result the second time for the reverse retros lol.

      • Danny

I don’t give a shit about Carolina. keep your head in the sand, and keep denying the obvious. Remember, they were in first place last year too, and look how it ended up.

    • TS

Stop being so mean to LVGK! It hurts my feelings

      • knights fan in minny

losers like you have no feelings fake ts your nothing but a malt liquor drinking nauseating punk

  19. TS

That game was lower than my paltry state pension.
