Think you have the skills to become the first Team President for the Las Vegas’ NHL team? If you are reading this, you probably don’t, but if you think you do, you can apply right now through the search firm Turnkey Search.

That’s right, the job we’ve all along expected to be handed to Murray Craven is open, and the team has enlisted a search firm to find the best and brightest candidates.

The President will work with Bill Foley to design the overall strategy for growth and profitability of the business and execute such strategy, manage customer relationships, brand development, community relations, sales, marketing, communications and all club business operations. -Turnkey Search

Since the NHL is a completely private entity, there is no legal reason why a position like this would ever have to be posted before it is filled. Nonetheless, they’ve been accepting applications since July 28th.

The only real way to read into this is that the team is going through an exhaustive search to identify the best candidates before they pull the trigger and hire one. Makes perfect sense, until you throw Craven into the mix. Since the beginning he’s been The Creator‘s go-to hockey mind and seemed to be the obvious choice to be brought on as the Team President. While that still may happen, it’s a bit peculiar that the title of Team President would be listed by a search firm if the the guy they’ll eventually hire is already in the building.

It’s definitely possible, and maybe even probable, that I’m reading into this way too much, but it just struck me as a bit odd when I came across it.

I already had an article written waiting for the day Murray was announced officially as President, guessing now that one may need some editing.
