Vegas got a goal within the first minute of the game by Reilly Smith, but it seemed to unravel on them for the rest of the first 40 minutes. Missing Nate Schmidt and Luca Sbisa on the blue line and James Neal and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare, the Golden Knights were a complete mess in their own end. Four of the next five goals went to the Senators and Vegas took a two-goal deficit to the locker room after two. The Golden Knights stormed back in the 3rd getting a shorthanded goal by Ryan Carpenter to tie the game but moments later the Senators regained the lead, one they would hold until the game’s end.

- Is it just health or have the Golden Knights really fallen apart on defense recently?

It’s the injuries. It also has some to do with working new players into the lineup. Not just the guys that were brought in via trade, guys like Hyka that have spent the entire season in the AHL. I feel like Tatar is going to score soon and Reaves didn’t do anything for me to get mad about. He actually had a decent game and had a really good scoring chance. Dansk or Subban needs to be fully healthy soon, because MAF is getting overworked. No Schmidt and PEB have really hurt this team. The next two weeks should be very telling, but I’d still like to see 5-6 points out of the road trip.

No no don’t you see? This is all Ryan Reaves fault! Just look at everything last night! It’s all his fault ask anyone here!…… Now that we’ve gotten that but of ridiculousness out of the way, yes it’s the injuries. Hopefully this will be our bit of a slump before the playoffs. Our blue liners need to get their wheels back under them and we will be back to where we were. Reaves is a great addition to our team.

Don’t worry, I blame Reaves when it is justified. I go to games to see a star like Kopitar to score a goal like he did on Tuesday, I don’t want to see someone get their brains scrambled on a dirty, late hit. With his track record, Reaves should have been suspended.
