Per reports from Elliotte Friedman and Darren Dreger, the Golden Knights have traded defenseman Nic Hague to the Nashville Predators for Colton Sissons and Jeremy Lauzon.

The trade also includes a 2027 conditional 3rd round pick going to the Predators in exchange for 50% of Colton Sissons’ salary being retained by Nashville. VGK will surrender a 2nd instead of a 3rd if they win two rounds in the 2026 postseason.

Hague is subsequently signing a 4-year $5.5 million AAV extension with the Predators.

Sissons, 31-years-old, scored seven goals and 21 points in 72 games last season with Nashville and averaged 14:22 of time on ice per game. He has scored 95 goals and 221 points in his 690 game NHL career.

Lauzon, 28-years-old is a left-shot defenseman known for hitting. He tallied one assist and zero goals in 28 games last season after missing much of the year with a lower-body injury. He has scored 14 goals and 45 points in 316 NHL games.

Missing Pietrangelo And/Or Hague Hasn’t Been A Problem For VGK

  1. This must indicate Nic Roy is traded for Marner. I like that both are physical and are unable at end of season.

    • Emmanuel

Probably, but we could be surprised because there were rumors YYZ asked for Roy AND Hague.

  2. I mean unrestricted free agents at the end of next year.

  3. Emmanuel

    Good trade.

The Knights have $757,857 in cap space remaining with 12 forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders under contract.

That could change if Pietrangelo goes long-term injured reserve.

Pietrangelo has an $8.8 million cap hit the next two seasons.

    • Pistol Pete

Add $3m additional space trade Roy gone. Sign and trade dump is the best solution no salary coming back.

  5. FG

Trading Roy and Pietrangelo to LTIR leaves VGK just over $12.5 million in cap space. Expect that number for Marner. That does leave the question who will be the first pairing defensemen.

  6. I wonder how Marchy will feel knowing he and Hague are making the same amount of money lol!

    • Emmanuel

Clearly the FO didnt REALLY want JM.

The fanbase seems to want to keep everyone though…….

wow PP must be a nervous nilly today as his marner trade deal which likely included both roy and hague are in perilous territory ! Could it be a smoke screen on Petro, with EF saying he is hurt when he really isn’t. Could Roy and PEtro be going to Leafs in deal? Only PP and his crystal ball know for sure.

    • Pistol Pete

You being indifferent to whether the VGK acquires Marner or not would be consistent with your understanding of the VGK and how they fit into the NHL landscape!

      • ThG

says mr flip flop making up lies about “my indifference”. You can’t tell difference between in difference and what is going on in real world 24/7.

Completely falling for EF’s hype, all the time. Typical liberal mind bending at work here in real time. You realize EF is a homer, don’t you ?

          OT:

You are not actually a VGK supporter. This helps explain why you are completely indifferent to Marner. This site is nothing more than a medium for you to push your neurotic dull repetitive horse and buggy dribble!

          • ThG

More bull shit from resident flip flop fuckery clown. Dribble is your main and constant mode. You named nearly every player available at one point coming to VGK. That is not “VGK supporter” material. That is just plain nonsense and stupidity. One would expect as much from a left wing clown that you are.

Biden’s secretary Neera Tanden had authority to use his signature on official documents.
Tanden couldn’t identify who gave final approval for using Biden’s autopen signature.
Congress is interviewing multiple Biden staffers about who was “calling the shots”.
This revelation raises questions about who was actually making decisions in the White House.

Theyre just throwing red meat to us, they never do anything, just talk about it.

It does seem likely the Roy trade happens as it would be hard to believe theTOR GM would allow Marner to slide into free agency for nothing. Roy is an attractive piece for just $3m for two years. Looks like Hague could have been in the deal but TOR was unwilling pay his price. Now we can wonder if McCrimmon will offer for example Holtz in the deal as well. If he intends to put the two guys from the Preds on the roster it does not look like he’ll have the space to extend Holtz (for example).

  10. Pistol Pete

Whether the sign and trade happens with Roy or not, McCrimmon needs to dump Roy’s cap hit to have enough room for Marner. Hate to see Nic go he’s been a good warrior but such is life in the NHL.

  11. trade

Sissons is the perfect center on the 4th line. He is a topnotch defensive center and penalty killer. He is a PLUS +18 over 11 seasons in Nashville.

    the PK just got stronger.

Dems are no longer moderate common sense party, and their racism , as well as fascist tactics are on full display. FACTS to support this:

Tweeted by LeBrun. Another $1.4285m cap space for Kelly. Every little bit helps!

Predators announce they’re also retaining 50 percent of Sissons’ $2.857M AAV for next season (last year of his deal).
If Vegas wins two playoff rounds next year, the 3rd RD pick becomes a 2nd Rd pick

  14. Pistol Pete

Both Preds guys on the roster, Roy gone, Petro out I have cap space @ $13.97m.

The above assumes $9.6m cap space before extending Smith and Saad ($4m total).

Today is the deadline for teams to extend qualifying offers to their prospective RFA’s. Should we extend one to Holtz? Cassidy indicated late in the season he thought AHL time was benefiting him. I think one way or another he makes it to the NHL so yeah I would keep him around for the minimum salary.

At least somebody around here namely yours truly does some hockey DD compared to the other high volume poster who thoughtlessly and continually posts repetitive OT political drivel. We all know who this multi-handle horse and buggy caricature of themself is!

PredLines on the bag body hitter, our new Dman Jeremy Lauzon. We need this guy in the playoffs!

How many SC has he raised? How many SC finals has he played in? Another useless post that proves nothing at this point in time. . Show me some winning ! Not your endless dribble of “hopeful” posts with no extension to reality.

  18. trade

Wonder if Whitecloud will be moved up to play with Hanifin. because it would be a lot of pressure on the kid Korczak to try to play him every game against top line opponent forwards.

and remember, Ben Hutton replaced Petro in game 5 vs Edm after Petro got suspended, and the Vgk beat the Oilers at T Mobile in game 5 easily, and then won the series in game 6 in Edm. Hutton came up big in the biggest of playoff situations for the Vgk, and I have confidence in him because of that.

  19. VGK Fan

Why did we add Jeremy Lauzon $2 million to our salary cap?

We have Korczak and Sutton who make less than $1 million. What am I missing here?
