After months of unnecessary secrecy the cat is now officially out of the bag. The NHL will once again host it’s annual awards show in Las Vegas. This year it’ll be at the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Wednesday June 22nd.

Can we get a little corporate speak to get us all pumped up for the event?

The end of June marks a special time on the NHL calendar for our players and their families, fans, partners as well as our Clubs. The League hopes to make this year’s show the best one ever. -Steve Mayer, NHL VP of Programming and Creative Development

Magician Gob Bluth (more commonly referred to as Canadian actor Will Arnett) will host the event. Look how funny he is!

I’m excited to host the 2016 NHL Awards because we all know in 2017 I’ll be too busy celebrating the Leafs winning the Stanley Cup. -Will Arnett

It’s the eighth year the Awards will be held in Las Vegas and tickets are expected to be available soon through PrimeSport.

By June 22nd, Las Vegas should already have been awarded the 31st franchise in the NHL, so one can reasonably expect some sort of celebration to coincide with the awards. Of course, the press release from the league has no mention of expansion, as expected.
