Through their 14 postseason victories, Vegas was led by their big 2025 offseason splash, Mitch Marner. The former Toronto Maple Leaf led the Golden Knights and the NHL with 29 points in the 2026 playoffs. Also, had several pretty plays in the postseason, including the incredible breakaway goal against Anaheim. One season in, Marner made his mark with Vegas, adding 80 points and fitting well with his teammates and the City of Las Vegas.

Earlier this summer, the league caught up with Marner and other stars to discuss their prettiest NHL goal. Brand-name players like Patrick Kane, Cale Makar, Tage Thompson and a handful of others were shown highlight reel goals and asked if it were their prettiest, or nicest, goal of their career. Many agreed with the league-selected memorable moments, but Marner and a few others disagreed and had their own favorites.
I kind of walked in off the blue line coming down the hill. Beecher, I think it was. I know he’s a forward, so I kind of took him wide, made a play and then I had him one-on-one there in the slot. Tried to pump fake a move and tried to get him to bite and lucky enough he did. I don’t think this is my prettiest goal, though. I think actually the one I scored against Vegas. -Mitch Marner to NHL.com
Although Marner is a Golden Knight, one of his personal favorite goals came against his current team. A goal VGK teammate Brayden McNabb has likely forgotten about. Thankfully, they’re sharing the same side of the ice now.

Nevertheless, the goal from November 2021 made Marner’s list of top career goals. I’m willing to guess he’d like to one-up that highlight with a prettier goal against the Maple Leafs.
I think maybe three years ago was probably my prettiest one. I kind of made a move out from the goal line. I made a made around the goalie and I think that was probably one of my prettier ones. That one was pretty cool. -Marner to NHL.com
Vegas’ top playmaker recorded 24 goals in 2025-26. Many were spectacular, but his number one prettiest Golden Knights goal came in the Second Round of the 2026 playoffs. On his first shift of the game, William Karlsson found Marner with a stretch pass. After that, the magic occurred. Marner received the pass, fought off Ducks defender Jackson Lacombe, and faked goalie Lukas Dostal out of his padded hockey pants with a showstopping between-the-legs goal to open the scoring. By the end of his career, that Game 6 goal will lead Marner’s greatest hits album.
Don’t get me wrong; Marner had many exciting goals in his first season in Vegas. Including the two tallies he scored versus the Calgary Flames on October 18th. Or his wraparound goal against San Jose. Maybe, his power play snipe vs. the LA Kings. Or even his give-and-go tumble shot that slipped into the Pittsburgh Penguins net. Honestly, the long-range one for the hatty in the Cup Final could be up there too. There’s been plenty of magic from Marner in just one season as a Golden Knight.
Which goal from Marner’s first VGK season is your favorite?

Right now I would take Mitch over Jack. I don’t know what was with Jack for the last half the season and playoffs? Most were thinking he was playing hurt, but there was not mention at all about an injury after the season was over?

Jack had 90 pts in 74 games plus 22 in 22 playoff games. Elite is elite.
