2/26 – McCrimmon: “I asked as recently as today. He had the surgery on January 31st so we are closing in on a month and it’s still too early for anyone to be able to predict with any certainty what a timeline would look like. So it’s indefinite, that’s I believe how we announced it at the time. As we get further into this and there are different markers he needs to hit you can begin to then tighten that timeframe up but at this point it’s still too vague. He had major back surgery, so it’s going to be a rehab process that takes some time.”
2/13 – George McPhee expressed some optimism that Stone could return during the regular season. “It’s not unreasonable. We have some timelines, it’s just, is he going to hit them or not?”
2/7 – It was confirmed on the ATTSN broadcast that Stone is not expected back during the regular season.
2/6 – Bruce Cassidy on Mark Stone: “I cannot answer (if I expect him back this year). I’m not going to say he’s not expected back. That will depend on a certain amount of his individual recovery. I was told there’s an opportunity, but when that is I don’t know. If we can extend our season, which is our goal and always has been, then that obviously increases our odds. But right now I don’t know.”
2/1 – Official VGK statement: Mark Stone underwent successful back surgery on Tuesday, January 31. He will be out of the lineup indefinitely but is expected to make a full recovery.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Chad Prusmack in Denver, CO. Stone suffered the injury January 12 and began rehabilitation work shortly thereafter. After a setback, it was determined that surgery was the best course of action.
1/26 – “Hopefully on the other side of the break we’ll see him. That’s what I was told originally, that would be a good possibility, but I guess until we get back to Vegas that’s a tough one (to answer).” -Bruce Cassidy (Source: @JesseGranger_)

11/12 – Tuch returned to practice for the first time since the injury. He participated in full on the 3rd line.
On the assumption that a player is held out for a concussion, all symptoms must be completely resolved before returning. This requires repeating preseason testing and exams by the team physicians. Only then is it safe to return. The reasons for this are that a repeat concussion within two years is almost 20% more likely even with appropriate recovery. And worse yet, if a player returns too early before symptoms resolve or hides a concussion from the team, the risk of permanent damage or death if he suffers a repeat concussion is inexcusably high! Bottom line, don’t mess with concussions! -Dr. Caleb Pinegar, Crovetti Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine (SinBin.vegas’ injury expert)
11/10 – Tuch did not join the team on the full four game road trip.
