Carter Hart off to a nice little start with us 2-0 (2.32/.906). Schmid is 10-6 (2.35/.903). Seems maybe Cassidy plays Schmid vs. NYI so as to maintain his show of confidence but we shall see.

Btw we have one game in hand on the Ducks and it will remain so through tomorrow as they as they play the Penguins in Pittsburgh giving us the chance to go up on them in the standings (and with a game in hand) should we beat the Islanders and they lose.

My thoughts on this, going into the trip, were that they would rotate every other game, as the pre planned schedule. So far true. The question I had, though, does Hart want to or not want to start in PHI. So assuming they are rotating, that puts Hart in PHI and that will be interesting. Otherwise they may go Schmid 2 games now and give Hart extra rest (until he is in game shape). That isn’t a bad plan either in my opinion.

That’s pretty nice stats for our two currently playing goalies. But, maybe unfortunately , Hill still lingers in the shadows. When he is healthy, he’s going to be handed back a job most likely. Too much money to be sitting. Myself I would be satisfied to go into playoffs without him! But that’s probably not going to happen?

    • Pistol Pete

I believe Hill has just an eight team no move clause. If accurate it creates options for a trade. If Hart really works out he’ll command more than $2m beginning 2027-28.

I think any 2 of Hill, Schmid & Hart will be fine though I would rotate whatever 2 they keep and the bronze medal winner in Henderson as insurance.

The teams excellence at shot suppresion is the secret sauce.

Ok, the islanders today. Always tuff. Let’s see if the boys can pull off another!
