The Golden Knights have acquired the 83rd pick in the 2024 Draft and a 3rd round pick in the 2025 Draft from the Washington Capitals in exchange for goalie Logan Thompson.

VGK selected goaltender Pavel Moysevich of SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL with the 83rd pick.

Golden Knights Take Massive Risk In Selecting Trevor Connelly

  1. JB

    Wow! We gave him away?

    • knights fan in minny

you can say that again garbage move

    • TS

      Man oh man..
There must be good reason for Mgmt to trade LT. There’s more to this than we know…

  2. knights fan in minny

2 3rd round picks what a joke logan is worth more then that better hope hill can stay healthy

    • Recrimination

absolutely correct. not only did they get only 3rd round picks, but #65 is the first pick of the 3rd round, so getting a #83 pick is useless garbage.

and then I thought they were high on Lindbom, so why the waste of a selection on another far off G prospect??

Connelly was a good pick, but this trade is dumb.

they could have packaged LT in a big trade for a real nhl player, like Marner or etc, if they were so itchy to dump him.

      • ThG

toronto doesn’t want LT, obviously. PP is pouting in corner as his pipe dream goes up in smoke, again.

    • Dylan

Hill has basically never stayed healthy nor played that many games in a given season.

  3. knights fan in minny

you need 2 good netminders in this league h had a low salary i do not get it unless they have something better coming up

  4. Dean

I can’t believe they pretty much gave him away. Not sure what they’re thinking but I hope it works out in our favor. Ugh

  5. Cap trouble and they give away a very worthy asset on money alone. How good could an 83rd pick be PP you better have a conversation with mccrimmon ASAP before he stinks up the room even further. First acquiring a potential liability then giving away a cheap goalie who won the three games in the playoffs as l recall.

    • ThG

not the first time they let someone go for sal cap considerations.

      • Richie-Rich

Logan’s cap was $774K, something else going on behind the scenes that we likely will never know.

        • ThG

          you re right

they just got goalie from devils, who used to be good last year

  6. Emmanuel

    G are interchangeable, doesnt matter…….

  7. Alex

    Thompson stunk last year…no loss

    • knights fan in minny

shut up stupid you know nothing loser get back to your porch

    • ThG

you still a fan after VGK made that racist pick ? Thought you would high tail it out of here, loser.

    • knights fan in minny

okay know it all what goalies would you have in Vegas you have no answer because you have no clue

  8. ThG

strictly a sal cap move, and the demand obviously wasn’t there, even PP
can see his wet dream of moving LT to Toronto in deal for Marner for what it was. Blowing smoke, and wrong yet again.

Even Toronto didn’t want him, and Caps need a ghoulie.

    goalie that is.

    • Richie-Rich

This goalie they selected at 83rd must be awful good, because #36 would have been a nice cherry on the top of a trade for a guy like Marner or Stamkos. This move makes no sense to me, ….. right now.

      • ThG

hard to move players out of Russia now

suspect move, remember they lost Morosov, or whatever his name is.

Don’t know why they keep going back to Russian dry well.

    • Dylan

      Wet Dream?

      WOKE Dream?

      Good meth today?

      • TS

Dylan, he’s like this all the time. He’s the site Disruptor. He hates on anyone who isn’t like him. He winds himself up every day on FAR FAR FAR RIGHT POLITICS, then he passes it all along with his 1000 word click- and- paste BS. HIS drug is Politics. And if you DARE challenge his CRAP, he busts a nut and shits his Depends! What a CLOWN.

The Golden Knights’ second selection of the draft was spent on the 6’5, Belarusian goaltender. This past season he played in 13 KHL games with SKA St. Petersburg and recorded a .942SV% and a 1.21GAA.

Pavel Leonidovich Moysevich (Russian: Павел Леонидович Мойсевич, born September 29, 2004) is a Belarusian ice hockey goaltender for SKA St. Petersburg of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). He is considered a top goaltending prospect eligible for the 2024 NHL entry draft.

    Playing career
Moysevich made his professional debut in the 2020–21 season with Sobol Beryoza of the Vysshaya Liga, the second tier of professional hockey in Belarus.[1] In the 2021–22 season, he played for the Belarusian national under-18 team. The team, which competed in the Vysshaya Liga, was meant to attend the 2022 World U18 Championship, but could not due to the country’s suspension in the wake of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.[2]
Moving to Russia for the 2022–23 season, Moysevich joined Kapitan Stupino, the Junior Hockey League (MHL) affiliate of HC Sochi. In the tenth week of the season, he recorded two shutouts, making 124 saves on 126 shots and earning MHL goaltender of the week honors.[3] In November 2022, he was traded to SKA St. Petersburg, where he finished the season splitting time between their MHL and Supreme Hockey League (VHL) affiliates.[2]

Moysevich made his Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) debut on October 25, 2023, in relief of Artemy Pleshkov [ru]. In 47 minutes in the 6–3 victory over Kunlun Red Star, he stopped each of the 12 shots he faced.[4] In his first 242 minutes of KHL play, he did not concede a single goal, setting a league record despite not recording a single shutout.[2][5] In the second period of a 9–5 loss to Avangard Omsk on February 6, 2024, Moysevich sustained an injury.[6] In total, he appeared in 13 KHL games over the course of the season, though many were relief appearances or minutes played towards the ends of matches whose results were foregone conclusions.[7] On March 1, 2024, Moysevich made his KHL playoff debut against Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod, in relief of Nikita Serebryakov [ru].[8] Returning to SKA-1946 for the MHL playoffs, Moysevich recorded a .945 save percentage and a shutout in ten games en route to a Kharlamov Cup championship.[9]

    International play
Moysevich represented Belarus at the 2023 Channel One Cup.

don’t know his contract status yet

    • ThG

His KHL contract is also valid until the 2026-27 season

    • Dylan Barmmer

What are his political affiliations or beliefs, though?

Is he tight with PUTIN? Like TRUMP?

Or is he, sadly, just very very…

      • ThG

Trump isn’t tight with putin, dumb a$$, but clearly you are. Take your indoctrinated bull shit and stick it, So far you have posted nothing but spin and hate here.

  10. VGK fan

Basically gave away a goalie making minimum wage away for two players who have 12% percent chance of making the NHL.

  11. Richie-Rich

Logan’s CAP is $767K ( I believe ). Something else is going on behind the scenes on this transaction that we may never know.

    Could Lehner be coming back?
    Could Patera be the 1B?

    Interesting move.
    I don’t like it.
Doesn’t free up enough CAP space, which means that wasn’t the reasoning behind the transaction.

  12. knights fan in minny

trying to get akira schmid from the devils

  13. HITS84

We might know something about LT’s health that nobody else knows. Either way sad to see ya go brother and I’m hoping KM has some crazy scheme cooking. Really makes not much sense getting rid of such a young good goaltender who was dirt cheap. I’m thinking our GM thinks into the future and has realized those two picks can be used wisely as part of another deal either now or later. Let’s see what happens. I don’t think this was about Cap space and Hill is the one with the hit.

  14. Recrimination

so they traded LT with a $766k cap hit , and replace him with Schmid, an RFA with a similar cap hit.

the only difference is that Schmid is a big walrus like Hill who better fits the Vegas profile for goalie style.

  15. Recrimination

Holtz= more skill than Cotter, but no physical play like Cotter

  16. DeezNutz

I will never financially recover from this

    • ThG

shouldn’t have bet on biden winning that debate in first place

don’t bet money you can’t afford to lose.

      1 -800 – GAMBLERS ANONYMOUS , here for you.

  17. vgk21

if Marchy and Stephenson are not signed by Sunday night, then they are gone, because there is no way that the Vgk can compete with the higher offers those 2 players will get on the open market beginning on Monday.

  18. Emily51

You know something very, very alarming happened in the world of VGK hockey if there was not one single mentio of politics and only one insult-only post!!

  19. DocG

This might be dumber in the long run than thinking Lehner was better than Flower. Thompson is younger, cheaper and I believe better than Hill right now. He also has a much bigger upside. Hill will also be an unrestricted free agent at the end of next year if we don’t extend him and we are likely to still be in cap hell then.
We will know for sure in 2 or 3 years but my read today is that will be a huge bust for the Knights. I will be happy to be proven wrong.

  20. JV

Don’t see how this is a cap move when LT is making league minimum this season.
Must have been a lot more going on between him and Cassidy than we were led to believe. IIRC, didnt LT once say he didn’t know if he would still be here at one point back in Dec. or Jan.? When LT was asked if he requested a trade, he didn’t deny it either.

  21. Abdullah

Washington got the short end of the LT a handful.of games he was terrible
