Vadim Shipachyov picked 87, the number he’s worn for much of his career including in the KHL and at the World Cup. Turns out there’s this Crosby guy also wearing that number. Oh well.
In other news, jerseys are expected to be available within the next three weeks for both season ticket holders and those who pre-ordered them at The Armory.

Big deal on Cosby using #87. He’s not on VGK.

Funny, isn’t it…no one is complaining that someone is going to wear 87, but when Ho-Sang wears 66, it’s a s**tstorm. Ridiculous, don’t start this.
RJ
I can’t believe Cosby would disrespect Shipachyov by keeping #87.

Once the final roster is selected and the numbers are assigned for real, I was hoping that 20, 17, and 18 would be reserved for the captain and alternates for the inaugural 2017-18 season as a marketing strategy, just for the first season. In a perfect world, one assistant captain would be a left winger, the other assistant captain a right winger, and the captain plays centre. What a photo op that would be when the puck is dropped for the first regular season game. But the world is not perfect, because, surprisingly, no one was assigned or even chose 17, thus far, so I will have to wait and see who will wear number 17, which is the jersey I ordered for myself to arrive late next month to commemorate the first season as a keepsake. I am hoping there will be a player wearing 17 for me to adopt to cheer for. At least James Neal will wear 18. I am trying to convince my wife to order a second jersey number 20 for herself to wear for when we take a stroll on the strip the next time we visit Las Vegas. Picture couples wearing 20 and 17 at the home games, mall, strip, anywhere. Some marketing numbers ideas from a huge fan in Edmonton for the Vegas marketing department . Go Golden Knights!

I had pre-ordered a custom jersey with my name and number on it, so I’m glad to see no one took 85.
Looking forward to seeing the Knights in action both at the T-Mobile and on TV, well at home here in Canada where it will be aired.
How many days left and no TV deal?

Maybe jersey 17 was held back on purpose and is being reserved for when the Captain is announced and that is why it wasn’t given out for the training camp roster. That would be cool for me, but it would cost me more money to get the C sewn on ha ha.
