In today’s episode, we’re diving into the first two games of the tricky Southwest road trip including a look at improved goaltending, VGK’s offensive system against better teams, and their never-say-die attitude. As always, the show airs live at 7 PM every Wednesday (or Thursday when VGK play on Wednesday).

Marc-Andre Fleury
The Washington Capitals have reportedly been looking into acquiring Marc-Andre Fleury.
It would be weird to see Fleury in a Capitals jersey given how long he spent with the Pittsburgh Penguins, but it would certainly make some sense for Washington to add a veteran goaltender ahead of their potential playoff run. That said, Fleury has a 10-team no-trade clause and he might actually veto a deal to Washington. “I am not convinced that Fleury would be comfortable doing it,” Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman said on The Jeff Marek Show. “He’s still very much a Penguin and I think sometimes we underestimate how much passion there is in these rivalries. I do think the Capitals are very interested. I do think they’d love to do it. We have two months here, but I’m not convinced that Fleury would feel comfortable doing that at all.”
