Praise Be To Foley, Vegas Golden Knights Hockey Website

General Fanager Hired To Las Vegas Front Office

While it comes with great sadness that one of the best hockey websites on the Internet has been shut down, hockey nerds everyone are screaming from the rooftops about the latest hire to the Las Vegas front office.

TomĀ  Poraszka, the founder of GeneralFanger.com, the world leader in NHL salary cap information and the creator of the Mock Expansion Draft tool has been added to the Las Vegas staff as a Hockey Operations Analyst.

It’s truly the first outside the box hire for the organization on the hockey side as Poraszka has no hockey experience in his background beyond the creation of the website. However, this is exactly the type of move we here at SinBin.vegas have been clamoring for.

There’s aren’t many better minds when it comes to the NHL salary cap and Tom has been chasing down Expansion Draft loopholes since the moment the rules were announced.

We had the opportunity to work with Tom to clarify a few rules on our “The Curious Role Of UFAs In The Expansion Draft” as well as “Arizona Providing Vegas A Guide On How To Use Cap As An Asset” posts. He also broke the news on how the NHL is planning on going about deciding which first and second year players are exempt from the draft.

Somewhere Gary Bettman and Bill Daly are quaking in their boots wondering what Poraszka will come up with on June 20th. Also, hopefully Tom does us a solid and lets us rent that beautiful Mock Expansion Draft tool that has disappeared with the closure of his site.

We’ll miss GeneralFanager.com that’s for sure, but as far as we’re concerned, it couldn’t have shut down for a better reason.

Is it possible it is a short term contract and come the end of the draft process he leaves and restarts the website?

    • Interesting. Certainly possible, but the site was always very focused on salary cap more so than Expansion Draft. That was a recent addition. But it’s definitely a possibility.
