This weekend, the Golden Knights will embark on their 8th playoff journey in nine seasons of existence. It’s truly remarkable what the organization has accomplished in the postseason in such a short period of time. Beginning with their meteoric rise in 2018, Vegas has astonishingly compiled the 21st most playoff wins since 2000. Due to their success, they’ve earned 62 playoff victories and a Stanley Cup championship in 2023.

On average, the Golden Knights win the equivalent of 1.75 playoff series each season. Since 2018, Vegas has averaged 7+ postseason wins per year. Over a 25-season span, top teams are winning closer to 3-4 playoff games per year.
The Tampa Bay Lightning lead all NHL clubs in total playoff wins since 2000, averaging 4.92 per season. While it’s a much smaller sample, the Golden Knights have a leg up by almost three more playoff victories per season.
Playoff Wins Per Season Since 2018
- Tampa – 7.87 (Cup: 2020, 2021)
- Vegas – 7.75 (Cup: 2023)
- Dallas – 6.75
- Colorado – 6.5 (Cup: 2022)
- Florida – 6.5 (Cup: 2024, 2025)
- Carolina – 5.87
- Edmonton – 5.5
- Boston – 5.37
- New York Islanders – 3.87
- Washington – 3.62 (Cup: 2018)
Beyond the perennial attendees, Vegas has more postseason wins than 11 other organizations since 2000. After this postseason, the Golden Knights could elevate themselves on that list. If they put together a deep playoff run, Vegas could match or exceed the New Jersey Devils, a franchise that won two Stanley Cups, was a two-time runner-up and had multiple deep runs in the 21st century.
If the Golden Knights pull off the ultimate goal this season and win 16 playoff wins, they would stand just outside the top ten. 78 victories would be three behind the three-time Stanley Cup champions Chicago Blackhawks, and two away from the 2018 champions, the Washington Capitals.
Some NHL fanbases would say Vegas has flamboyantly paraded their success since their inaugural season. From ruthless firings to shocking trades, the Golden Knights make the tough decisions other fans dream of from their favorite franchise. It’s paid off handsomely for Vegas, but postseason success comes with exceedingly high expectations from fans (and Ken).
62 and counting.

This. Since VGK entered the league (as an expansion team with a bargain bin roster), they have been the 2nd or 3rd (behind Tampa Bay, and maybe behind Florida because of their 2 Cup wins) most successful team in the NHL. There are a lot of ups & downs, but fans should never lose sight of how amazing this franchise has been to-date. P.S. – and it’s all been under essentially the same front office.

the year 1 miracle season was a longterm blessing because it created expectations and demands of continued annual success.
if fans accept mediocrity, that is not helpful to the team, because there is no push for improvement if losing is tolerated and accepted.
the front office of any team needs to continually have their feet held to the fire, and to be held accountable.
Thank you Vgk fans, for being the accountability factor that keeps this front office on notice, with no let up.

As much as we bitch about management when you take in our 9 year existence it’s hard to argue overall they’ve done a good job. Lot of banners flying in T-Mobil after our short existence. Let’s seal the deal tonight against that team up north. Can’t wait to see the matchups.

Look, we were spoiled from year one. Not everyone is going to agree with the trades, contract signings and lost favorite players. But, this organization has kept this team in the playoffs every year but one. That is amazing. I get pissed from time to time on what the McGMs have done. But I must admit they have gotten the results. Period! If we win tonight and clinch this division, again, that is remarkable. Two weeks ago nobody felt we would do that!

Last game win 3-2 OT vs. Bakersfield Connelly gets a goal and assist. Doing so much better as a pro than his one year in college. Very encouraging though I suspect needs to improve defensively (+1 pretty modest given the offense numbers). Looks like third line LW if he can defend up here.
2025-26 season:
Connelly: 14G/34A (48 pts/44 games +1) 6’1” 175
Lavoie: 29G/26A (55 pts/43 games +6) 6’4” 217
Lindbom (2.20/.924) 6’1” 186
Just look at Lavoie’s numbers and big body. Now if he can just score in the NHL!
With Hill around hard to say how Lindbom fits in if Hart does well.
Anyways first things first it’s playoffs time. GKG!

Theo ties it up.
At the game tonight. Kraken a pain to play against through two periods. We are moving the puck lots of shots not getting through their defensive sticks pain in the butt.

Torts rewarded for running the Super Line. Mitch tips one in McNabb and Eichel assist. 2-1 VGK

Back to backers by Reilly 4-1 now. Seems Torts is working his magic on the guy.
