In 2024-25, the Golden Knights won 50 games for the third time in franchise history. They posted a strong 50-22-10 record and won the Pacific Division, locking up home-ice advantage for at least the first two rounds. By pretty much all accounts, that’s about as successful a regular season as anyone can hope for.
However, there’s a famous saying in Vegas that may force us to look at the 24-25 season a slightly different way. That saying is, “Good teams win, great teams cover.”
Of course, in hockey, there aren’t really point spreads like football or basketball, but the concept isn’t necessarily only about covering spreads; it’s about making money. The best teams not only win the games on the ice, but they also make bettors money by backing them.
Throughout the season here at SinBin.vegas, we track the gambling side of the game using moneylines from William Hill Race and Sports Book. You can find all of the data for the entire history of the team on our Odds Page.
Did betting on the Golden Knights return a profit in 2024-25?
As we’ve laid out on the historical page, a $100 unit bettor (bets $100 when VGK are underdogs and enough to win $100 when they are favorites) who bet on every Vegas game last season would have walked away with a profit of $372.
What about if, rather than worrying about what the odds for that game were, you simply bet $10 on every single game? Here’s how it would have turned out.

And finally, the playoffs.
VGK went 5-6 in their 11 playoff games despite being favorites in nine of the 11. That would have amounted to a loss of $30.39 if a $10 bet was placed on every game. The best win was Game 3 at Edmonton, where VGK won as +100 underdogs, while the worst loss was as -240 favorites in Game 2 vs Minnesota.

VGK2018
Couldn’t beat good teams, esp out of the division and to a lesser extent on the road. Been a similar story since inception. Not sure what to make of it but it has been worth wagering on as you point out.
