Recap: The Sharks took the first lead 2:38 into the game. However, a few minutes later Jonathan Marchessault tied the contest with his 13th goal of the season. The game was locked up 1-1 after the opening twenty minutes.

San Jose regained the lead 11:07 into the middle frame but again Vegas’ top players responded. After coming short on two previous power plays captain Mark Stone scored the equalizer. From that point, the Golden Knights took over.

Leading 3-2 in the 3rd period Marchessault extended the lead scoring his second of the game. New acquisition Mattias Janmark slipped in an empty net goal giving his team a 5-2 finish.

Vegas’ record improves to 33-11-2 after their 5-2 victory against San Jose. The Golden Knights get an extra day off and won’t hit the ice until Saturday. The game against the Anaheim Ducks is scheduled for 6 PM PT. (Recap by Jason)

Analysis: The Golden Knights controlled a majority of the play despite falling behind a few times in the game. Every time these two teams play each other, it feels like eventually the goals will come for Vegas, and tonight they did. (Analysis by Ken)

No big secret this Janmark kid can play besides Stone this kid is the second best passer to find the open man. Get this kid signed for a couple more years at 28 he’s in his prime. We gave a second, third, and fifth for him money well spent. You think about the draft and in our case we draft at the end of the rounds and who you draft as in Whitecoud, Hague, and Coghlan this is there forth year with the team and are now finally on the Knights roster gaining valuable experience. Glass after 4 years is still in the AHL and at the same time we pick up Stephenson, and Janmark for chump change and both fit right into the program day one. It makes you wonder back to where we draft are we better moving a first or second round pick for a sleeper instead of waiting 4 years for them to develop if they develop. We’ve drafted very well after round 2 and Krebs and the Russian kid who I hope comes over this year are the exceptions. George and Kelly seem to find these nuggets and hopefully they continue to find them. Everyone says build your team through the draft I’m starting to believe put those draft choices to work for you to pick up talent ready players.

      Well said sir.. bravo

Its a mixed bag. I think we have a good judge of talent, McPhee and McCrimmon are very good at it. Foley wants to win now, not 4 years from now. But, a team must have younger, hungry kids coming up too. Krebs is going to be here soon, he’s 20, our management will make room. I like Janmark too, fast and a good playmaker. The Russian kid is a mystery, but he seems like a talent. I must also say, Pietrangelo is a master, a world class talent, his passes are amazing.

Mark Petro is getting more comfortable kind of what happened to Patch last year. Patch didn’t excel but has this year I feel the same about Petro I think next year will even be better. The Russian center is playing in the KHL on the best team second line center they say he’s good will he come over who knows. We seem to have the best of both worlds first our entry draft was the basis of our team add some pieces, draft some pieces it’s all working thanks to George and Kelly. Keep drafting but with extra picks find those nuggets that will fit into the team hence Stephenson and Janmark. With Krebs, the Russian kid, Jack Dugan, Lucas Evelens this Bisson kid who’s at Michigan plus besides all theD- Men we’ve brought up theres still 2 or 3 more in the pipeline who are good. Bottom line is most of the hockey world can’t stand us because of our success but let me tell you we’ll be loaded for years to come so they might as well get used to it.

Great win. skating is the name of the game. that is why hidden gems like Stephenson and Janmark can really show their talent when they get an opportunity.

Col plays 3 straight games in St Louis beginning tonight, and then they play in Vegas next Wed

those 3 games may likely determine the Blues playoff fate, so one would hope and expect that the Blues will be battling hard in those games. The problem is that the Blues have played poorly at home this season, but these games will be crucial if they really want a playoff spot.

The President’s Trophy is in sight along with home ice advantage throughout the Playoffs. That’s a big plus and certainly gives the Knights something to play for. Considering the weak Pacific Division, either Vegas or Colorado will likely take the Trophy.

More evidence of it last night. Alex Tuch is one of the most dangerous forwards in the NHL. I truly believe that if he had Leon Draistaitl setting him up, Tuch would put up McDavid numbers. He’s that good. As fast, can hang on to the puck, has the moves at top speed and a wrist shot that beats goaltenders. It’s been this way since Game 1, Season 2. He has been held back due to the lack of qualified NHLers on his line …. poor utilization of cap money. MGT know gets it that they’ve got to get Tuch the players he deserves. Move Holden/Reaves/Kolesar’s $4.25 mil and resign Nosek/Janmark. There will be $7 mil available come July 2022 for a hi-end center for Tuch. Then, a new Number 1 line.

    • Tim

sb your spot on Tuch can be a force and Nosek and Janmark are reliable players. Holden, Reeves, and Kolesar are no help whats so ever. You can see by getting Janmark Kolesar couldn’t carry his gym bag.
