VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS 4 LOS ANGELES KINGS 0 (Preseason Game 4)

Recap: The Golden Knights traveled back home to face off against the LA Kings in back-to-back nights. Undrafted prospect Daniil Miromanov gave Vegas the first lead of the game with his second goal in consecutive games.

Defenseman Alec Martinez doubled Vegas’ lead in the second period, scoring a one-timer on the power play. Martinez’ goal was the fourth on the man-advantage this preseason. Fellow veteran William Karlsson stretched VGK’s lead to 3-0 :18 seconds into the third period and Miromanov poked in another six minutes later. Vegas goaltender Laurent Brossoit stopped all 37 shots on net to secure the shutout.

The Golden Knights even their preseason record to 2-2 with their 4-0 victory against the Kings. Vegas will have a few days off and prepare for another exhibition game against the Colorado Avalanche. Game is scheduled for 6 PM PT from Denver, Colorado. (Recap by Jason)

Analysis: The first period was a bit of a struggle but as the game went on VGK started to take over. Daniil Miromanov also put forth the most impressive preseason performance since Tyler Wong’s hat trick in the Golden Knights’ very first preseason game. (Recap by Ken)

That is more like it. More like the Knights of old.

BRO-swa looks great, very good economy of movement and reflexes and technique. He is the new French Canadian goalie hero in town. He never got to play much in Winnipeg because of Hellebuyck, but I hope he plays a lot here in Vegas.

Miro-manov is a good offensive dman with slick hands who jumps into the slot at the right time on the give and go play.

Agree – guys played with a little more urgency last night.
    A few quick takes –

    – Obviously LB is a professional Goal Tender. Doesn’t make many mistakes. Hopefully having great defenders in front of him makes him that much better.
    – Pietrangelo looks strong, composed and in control.
    – Martinez looked in mid-season form.
    – Hague showing a lot of confidence.
    – I am not qualified to judge the defensive competency of Miro, but damn, he skates well and has good hands. The Theodore Jersey tweet is spot on.
    – I think Carrier is reading the blogs…..that he might be in danger. His effort last night had a lot of urgency for a pre-season game.
    – Lastly, IMO Patrick had his best outing last night. No goals, but he was a presence on offense and in front of the net.

Curious to see what the lines look like on Tuesday.

@john W. I agree, patrick and the russian are competing and pushing those ahead of them. The Russian is listed as taller in program than he appears on ice, maybe because he’s always hunched over with his motor running at 110% ?

play of (k)night no42 high fiving fans in front row ! Giving coghlin a run for his money for 7th d man slot. Let’s see some consistency and play against better teams

dumbchit observations: why have a mask mandate when people take them off to eat, yell, scream, wear them as chin diapers, sing the national anthem, little kids jumping around like mexican jumping beans all of which spewing spittle on people in front them ? What is up with uneducated people now giving US water advice ? First the gangster doofus, now some kid who doesn’t know squat. They show Lake Meade. Do these idiots realize vast, vast majority volume wise goes to CA, NV and Mexico. IT serves 25 million people, and Vegas only has a little over 1 million. Oh well, Vegas gets 90%..blah blah blah. What about the rest of 24 million people. Furthermore the state’s water management department says NV is not running out of water. They tally northern states aquifers, reservoirs and other sources. I know because I asked them. Why is it that when so called ‘progressives’ get control they all go ‘conserve, converse, converse’. Same with energy. They are know nothing, do nothing idiots who can’t manage an ant farm. I say EXPAND EXPAND EXPAND and stop with over bearing nanny state bull shit.

Last thought of day: Looks like Mark Stone found his way to line #3. That would really give balance to team.

    done with rant of day.

This Miromanov kid looks good I also like Diliberatore I think he has a nose for the goal and isn’t afraid to shoot. The way it looks is were loaded with D-men. I wasn’t worried if we won or lost I was looking for some speed and heart and they showed both Friday. It will be interesting what guys get sent down to the Silver Knights this weekend.

Wow, Cotter was likely the top player this preseason. Bad move.

      • THE hockey GOD

cotter had one good game and one average game in my opinion

      • Tim

Richard I agree Cotterlooked good and I thought Miromanov and Diliberatore also at least should have stayed up for one more game before being sent down. Oh well I’ll follow them with the Silver Knights.

This is the last year HSK will be at The Orleans. Looking forward to them opening up their new stadium in Henderson! I am a VGK STH (Section 11, ROW M, 13 &14). Not sure if I will go for HSK partial or full season.

        • Neither Miromanov or DiLiberatore played defense worth a damn. They need to work on defense. That’s why they were sent down to Henderson.

    • Richard Santomauro

Carrier and Kolesar, big bodies and good hitters but couldn’t drop a crap in a toilet while sitting on it.

  7. Richard Santomauro

So, I missed this one due to a conflict. Is Miramonov the real deal or not? I guess he earned some extra looks.

    • THE hockey GOD

too early to tell, he looks small on the ice, certainly not as tall as listed height in published material.

he’s a good skater, has a wicked shot, and really good hands. His d zone play needs some work. He jumps into the o zone ALOT. He connects with fans too, charismatic type of personality.

He needs to play more to see if he’s consistent and can play against better teams than KINGS B team players.

I hope they give him a shot in vegas and don’t use him as trade bait. VGK has history of screwing it’s eastern EUropean, esp Russian, players.

Brossoit, this guy is very, very good. Backed up in Winn. behind a great goaltender but a weak defense. This guy is good. He will push Lehner for starts. Competition is good. Just look at MAF vs Lehner last season. Not a flash in the pan. He’s a veteran player. McCrimmon, McPhee, these guys are sharp. Year 5 is looking very good.

    • knights fan in minny

he looked under control and calm a good combo but it was pre season lets hope he can play that way when it counts

Question: where can out of town Knights fans find the radio broadcasts, when it is not convenient to watch the games on ESPN+? And for that matter, where can interested fans listen to other NHL radio broadcasts, now that NHL.com is no longer making these available with a NHL.TV subscription? Would appreciate any information you can provide on this topic.

I view most games right here:
