Recap: The Golden Knights traveled to Winnipeg for their second game of a back-to-back. Logan Thompson started in net for the fourth straight game and held the game scoreless after the opening 20 minutes.
Although being outshot 17-4 the Jets took the first lead of the game six minutes into the middle period. Later in the period Winnipeg doubled their lead and took a 2-0 advantage into the second intermission.
Trailing 2-0 the Golden Knights continued to fire the puck on net but couldn’t generate any offense. Winnipeg added two more and shutdown Vegas to seal a 4-0 victory.
The Golden Knights record drops to 34-28-4 falling 4-0. Vegas will try and get back on the winning track Thursday night at The Fortress. Puck drop against Nashville is set for 7 PM. (Recap by Jason)

the second goal and tipped in, no 17 and no 7 were in front of own net got signaled crossed up because no. 17 decided to go to boards completely misjudging the puck speed which he didn’t have a chance to get, leaving. no. 7 in front of net to defend two players. If no. 17 stayed in front of net, it would have given no. 7 a better chance to defend one of two Jets.
the first goal was PP goal , ping ponged right in front of no. 17, no. 7 was not at fault.
the third goal was four on four and no 20 let pass go right by him all way to other circle, no 7 was in front of his own net, the forward shooting the puck was out by circle, and no forward was defending him because the VGK forward was cherry picking.

Exactly right. the Vgk simply do not go to the front of the net. there were numerous rebounds kicked out by Hellebuyck, but no one in a Vgk sweater was there to put it back in.
THAT is partly on the coaching staff. they simply do not emphasize going to the net. they continue for years now to allow their team to float around the perimeter, take soft 60 ft shots, and then say after the game, oh well we got 40+ shots, we’re playin’ great, but the breaks are just not going our way.

Yes, Forsberg makes an even more top heavy roster salary wise, however Patch is injury prone and may be approaching the end of his career.
Making the postseason seems more doubtful now than earlier, however should it happen we’ll see how Patch/Eichel Stone and the Misfit line do. If goes well the top six is set for next season. Karlsson although his offense is down does center a productive line.
The idea of acquiring Forsberg will no doubt be controversial. Naysayers will point to already too heavy roster and the cap crunch. Actually, I have not tried to figure out the numbers adding Forsberg’s $9m to EIchel, Stone, Petro and Patch. It’s probably pretty scary. In any event not re-signing Smith and trading Karlsson is close to $11m. Again, how much longer Patch is in the picture is a key piece.

Gaining two more points and six points on VGK, with same number of games left. A complete collapse by LAK would allow VGK back into playoff picture if VGK manages to put together a winning streak in last 16 games. That is 32 points remaining at two points per game. There is still enough points left for LAK to fall and VGK to rise into third place in Pacific Division. However, as someone pointed above Vancouver has FOUR games in hand and are only four points behind VGK.
Maybe a run for top lottery pick is in best interest of franchise, their ploy to drop SAL CAP does not appear to be working.
Front office has lost some pretty marginal NHL players over the past year including Patrick Brown, Adam Brooks, and Poillet to waivers. That is one thing I would question on their ability or lack thereof, to maintain a roster. Although the last lost was bit unlucky because the next day they had to put two players on covid protocol. That pretty much sums up the whole season for VGK. Very bad puck luck and hockey gods are not looking favorably on the team despite incredibly good luck the first four season. Karma, anyone ?

It should be obvious that DeBoer has lost the room. I doubt he finishes the year. So who takes over the reigns and gets the most out of this group?

Those AHL players are gaining a lot of experience. I actually thought they all played extremely well as a team for most of the night. They ran into a shit hot goalie that was a complete fucking brick wall last night. They should have had 4 or 5 goals.
That still doesn’t excuse that dumb fucking look on DeBoering’s face that he has after every loss. No passion, just simply resignation in his attitude. Can’t stand him as a coach. He’s probably a good person, but he leaves a lot to desired in terms of coaching.

Latest on Dadonov: Somehow, on trade call from Ottawa to Vegas (a team Dadonov could not block), Golden Knights and NHL were led to believe protection had expired/not filed properly. But, there is correspondence proving no-trade paperwork filed correctly (and on-time) June 30.

Los Angeles on Tuesday became the first major city in the U.S. to reach an average gas price of $6 or more. That’s according to fuel savings platform GasBuddy, which reported the national average gas price in the U.S. beginning to decline since its peak of $4.35 per gallon on March 10.
One proposal comes from Reps. Mike Thompson of California, John Larson of Connecticut, and Lauren Underwood of Illinois.
The congressional lawmakers propose the Gas Rebate Act of 2022 where Americans would get an energy rebate of $100 per month (and $100 for each dependent) for the rest of 2022 in any month where the national average gas prices exceed $4.00 per gallon.
Thompson was quick to divert attention away from Biden-flation, blaming the issue solely on Russia.

State-level lawmakers were also getting in on the action, with another California legislator suggesting that a $400 per year gas rebate could be enacted at the local level.

The rise and fall of the Vegas Knights empire there is a lot of blame to go around. Bad trades, underachievers, giving draft choices away like candy, letting good players walk, all this has contributed to where we are today. We’ve had an inordinate amount of injuries no question about that but when you resign guys in there 30’s there’s always a higher possibility of injuries.
I think I covered this topic back in September and at that time said I never understood why most disagreed with me to go balls to the wall game one on.So now everyone is desperate about watching the standings and our points. You all for the most part like cruise control and turn it on when you want. When I played or coached there was no such thing as cruise control balls to the wall or take a seat. Marchy is one guy who gets it plays with a chip every game but name another? That’s what they need to figure out this summer who wants to play.

Biggest issue is injuries especially no Patch and Stone with Eichel, however I am open to the notion there is something the coach can do to solve the not enough goals in the net problem, make that zero last two games.
