The Golden Knights last stop on their road trip was in Motown for an afternoon faceoff against the Red Wings. Jonathan Marchessault put Vegas ahead 1-0 at the 16:27 mark of the 1st period. With under a minute remaining Detroit was able to tie it up 1-1 on the power play.
In the 2nd period Max Pacioretty continued his hot streak scoring a goal in four out of the last five games. Vegas played strong defensively and kept Detroit off the board in the middle frame. Pacioretty’s goal made it 2-1 Vegas after 40 minutes of action.
The Red Wings tied it up 2-2 midway through the 3rd period. Detroit would keep Vegas’ offense stagnant and would burn the visiting team with :30 seconds remaining in regulation. The Golden Knights lost a 3-2 heartbreaker in Detroit.
Vegas’ record drops to 9-7-3 and went 1-2-1 on their four-game road trip. The Golden Knights will get back on track Tuesday night against the Chicago Blackhawks. Game time is scheduled for 7P at the T-Mobile Arena. (Recap by Jason)

I'm not apologizing for the loss. These last two nights have been pathetic and they should be embarrassed. The Golden Knights have a lot to figure out. But, they have plenty of time to do it. The time for changes and experimentation is now. Let's hope this is the catalyst for it.

This loss in no way determines whether or not the Golden Knights are going to win the Stanley Cup.
Nor does it even illustrate whether or not they are good enough to do it.
It's November 10th.
Calm the F down.

That is an absolute boneheaded decision with less than a minute left in a tie game. Cannot have it.

D-zaster
the Knights D corps is absolutely pathetic. They are dead last in points among all dmen, they are filled with slowfooted slugs, and yet the clueless coaches tell them to gamble incessantly, to pinch repeatedly, just like the stupid move by McNabb with 30 seconds to go. An idiotic gamble with zero logic behind it.
Notice that McPhee brought in Stone, Stastny, and Pacioretty to improve the forwards, but he did absolutely nothing to bring in defensemen, except for the low budget UFA signing of mediocre Holden a year ago.
This team is a disgrace because they repeatedly blow 3rd period leads, take bad penalties, and play thoughtless, selfish shinny instead of smart, organized, lockdown hockey…. and the coaches deserve a good share of the blame for not adjusting their system to match the personnel. You don’t pinch and gamble when you have slowfooted statues on D.
They just gave away a game to the worst team in the league. and then they have some guys just loafing and dogging it, like the useless Eakin. Mr Zero goals, and yet they use him on the PP, another coaching blunder. Stone set him up nicely, he could have salted that game away, and yet he misses the net from 3 feet away.
Let the major changes begin, because if they continue with the same D corps, and the same pinching, gambling system, the whole season is gonna be as disappointing as this current slump is.

This team will turn it around at some point, but it needs to be sooner rather then later if we want to contend for a cup. The coaching staff last year showed they don’t exactly have great faith in subban and with a team that will now be chasing from behind a playoff spot rather then defending theirs I see them relying heavily on fleury the longer this goes. Which if we have to do what we did last year and play him that much another 1st round exit is the most likely scenario. They simply do no play with the same hustle as the first year and instead look like a team that expects to be good and thinks wins should just drop their way. They get a goal a piece from their top 2 lines and then rest on it like that is enough. Time to wake up otherwise they will be waking up for tee time much earlier then expected. Yes Ken and Jason it’s early but also yes it is time to be concerned

Like most fans I agree our defense is a big problem with no help in Chicago. With little cap space and most teams still in it I don’t see a trade in the near future to help fix our defense. Cody Eakins isn’t our only problem on offense but he’s sure part of the problem. When were up I have no confidence we can hold the lead and when were down forget it. I’m sure Kelly and George are trying to figure it out but the fact is we don’t have that killer instinct and to add another player won’t make much difference. Am I the only one tired of hearing the broadcast team say we took our foot off the gas or coach telling us we quit playing in the last period. You can say it’s early but I don’t see us making the playoffs with our slow footed team.
